I've had a glut of fruit this year, and have been making a LOT of chutney. I prefer to use jaggery rather than sugar in my chutney: it gives a depth of colour and a richness of flavour that complements the spices. I ran out with another batch of fruit still to go, hence ordering this one.It's as expected: a thick, moist, dark sugary powder: less sweet that refined sugar but with a lot more flavour. Getting the powdered version eliminates the need for grating, and saves a lot of time, effort and mess. It's a similar texture to muscovado sugar or coconut sugar, and seems to be great quality.I'll buy again, and recommend!

very good. i will say its a high end jaggery very concentrated (not sucrose) - as it should be.
