My Omen 17" laptop is FINALLY happy!
I hate carrying around the 330W power brick, so purchased a 220W much smaller and lighter power supply, and despite it being enough for my workload at any given time there's no way to get rid of HP's annoying message about a small power supply, and the resulting performance cuts to the processor. I'm not even using the graphics card, 220W is enough, and HP still forces a lower clock mode for the processor - infuriating.Since I can't get around it I still carry around the huge 330W brick, and while I'll keep looking for a smaller, lighter 330W brick, this one can stay at my workstation so when I move my laptop I only have to pack the laptop - the original power supply is already in the bag. Now I have one I cary and one that stays at home and while it's far short of ideal, it makes a big difference not having to pack up and set u the power supply every time I use it at home. This one is as close a replacement as I've seen - matching the size, weight, and look of the original. There is a green quality assurance sticker obviously covering the back label where the HP logo would be displayed (and I haven't removed it to see if it's still there) but the listing and packaging imply it's not an official HP supply, though in all other respects it looks the same. It's not super lightweight either, which you might get in inferior supplies that can't actually handle 330W but send the right signals to the computer to pretend they do, and meanwhile you find your laptop crashing when you push it hard.So far as I can tell this is a full 330W supply, the laptop isn't complaining, gaming works just fine with it, and it's one less thing for me to do since I have to move my laptop several times a week. It's also significantly cheaper than the official HP power supply.Do note that HP has two different 330W power supplies, this one has the smaller tip and right angle connector, the other one is larger and a straight connector. Verify which one matches your laptop before buying!

Way Powerful for Omen 17 - Nice, But Not the Best for Travel
Only thing about this charger is that it's not the best for travel. It's heavy and it's really square in shape - not rectangular - which means that most carrying cases won't take it except in a side pocket parallel to the laptop, and with the kind of big gaming laptops that this thing powers up, that space is at a premium also. Most chargers, as you laptop-toter-arounders know, are more rectangular to fit beside or above or below the laptop itself. But with this one, it's not only heavy (but well-built!), it's just really square and big. Not overly thick - thinner than most rectangular chargers, especially of this power level, but quite square, so IF YOU TRAVEL with a monster laptop, keep that in mind. It's differently shaped than the OEM charger that comes with most models that it fits. It's built really well and the cables are thick and nice. It does wrap up just fine for travel, but I think it's best for a stationary position, and then tote the laptop around from stationary charger to stationary charger - like if you keep one at work and one at home. But it proved how much power it could deliver on our Omen 17 gaming beast, and it did fine powering the GPU as it did repeat triangle renders and at the same time still re-charged the battery. It works fine, and as advertised. The size is exactly as stated in the listing, so that is NOT a criticism, just a note for those who travel to evaluate the type of laptop case they can best use if they take this with them. I like and recommend this charger highly.
