Slow grower
I like this toy, but am in two minds about it. It seems fairly robust so far and certainly interests the dog for a while, but is not the distraction I was hoping for. A back and forth pulling motion of the rope is required to properly dislodge treats and my pup (part time genius, part time dunce) just can't seem to get that and, after pulling it in one direction, lets go of the rope and attacks it with his paws and mouth. He enjoys playing with it and trying to dislodge the food but has very limited success, so for any sustained play, I have to join in and help him (by playing a version of tug), otherwise he gets bored. I had bought it to combat separation anxiety and/or boredom while he's left alone & it's not much good for that. I suspect a larger dog (mine is a 6.5Kg Jackapoo) might have more success with it though.Edited after a month: pup has now really taken to the tug jug. He tips rather than tugs but clearly likes it now he's worked it out and it holds his interest for far longer so upping from 3 to 4 stars.

Nearly made it
Our bailey is feisty and next to no toy will ever withstand him. Unfortunately this only lasted 49 minutes...but that's a record for him as they usually only last 15. Saying that, the only bit he managed to destroy was the rope...so far!Bailey the beardie is a tough pup, at only one year old he will destroy any toy he is given and especially plastic pop bottles. Once I saw this toy I knew he would love it, it combines all his favourite things and it was tough enough to withstand his choping. He is still working on it as I type, oh he managed to get all the treats out in a matter of minutes but the bottle is providing him with endless entertainment and thankfully, it's defeating him so far,We need more toys like this that provide a challenge for the dog as well as entertainment and chewability. We all love it

but that isn't a bad thing as it keeps my puppy entertained for longer ...
This is not the easiest toy to get the treats out of, but that isn't a bad thing as it keeps my puppy entertained for longer than some of the other treat toys that I have bought him. My puppy is quite stubborn/persistent, so he is quite happy to spend time trying to get the kibbles out, but I could imagine that some dogs might get frustrated or bored with this toy and give up. It feels like a solid toy, and he has been playing with it every day for about a month and it is still perfect, but I do sometimes worry about the furniture and the walls, as he does bash it against things as he is playing with it.

Likes the toy but not for its primary function
My pup does like this toy, don't get me wrong. She loves to drag it around the living room by the rope and pounce on the bottle. However she cannot get anything out of it! Her food is REALLY small (so much so that in other toys it has to be on the highest difficulty rating) however she just cannot get it out. I have supervised her with the toy for 20mins becoming more and more frustrated with being able to see and smell the food but not be able to get it out!I can't imagine how tough it would be if the food/treats were any bigger!I would have liked to make it easier by taking the rope out of it so she can just tip the food out of the small opening, but I can't get the rope out!!

Great treat dispenser
Lovely dog toy. We've had it a while now and my dog uses it quite a lot and it hasn't shown any signs of the plastic jug cracking or splitting and he drops it a lot!! Would recommend for a small dog :)

Not long lasting
Bought this for my cocker spaniel puppy when he was 5 months old.He made quick work of the roped which was gone in under 2 days - and the plastic broke (had a crack line going through it) soon after, so I took it off him before he broke it completly and had a potentially nasty accident.Would not reinvest in one of these as it has a very short shelf life

sturdy product but my cocker spaniel was not interested in it at all
It's a great big sturdy toy but unfortunately my dog was not interested in it at all. He usually loves all toys but this one did nothing for him.
