Different model?
This is the second pair of these that I've purchased in the past 3 months and I would buy another. The dexterity of the gloves and tactile feel through them is second-to-none. However, upon receiving this pair, I noticed this pair did not come with the palm stitching. Not sure if this is a newer model or if it was missed in QA. Overall feel compared to the previous pair is the same and I would recommend to anyone on the fence.

Much better than anticipated!
Why would you ever use gloves while shooting? I figured I might consider using them if I ever go to an outdoor range during the winter, but why hamper your dexterity?Or so I thought until I picked up a lovely micro 9 for carry. Everyone knows that you should practice with your carry device frequently, but after going through a couple of rounds with this beauty, my precious desk-job hands were starting to hurt from the oh-so-grippy-but-sharp grips. The grips are going to be great if I ever actually need to use it in self-defense, but to practice? Not with these hands!Enter my search for gloves. They need to be strong enough to last, yet flexible enough and fit well enough so I can actually manipulate the micro in practice. Based on recommendations from notable bloggers and reviews here, I bought these gloves. These gloves fit the bill, not to mention my hands! I was even surprised to learn I am able to load a magazine with them, and let me tell you, if you don’t already know, a micro 9 magazine is pretty tight. I even went through an entire self-defense shooting class with them on and didn’t have to take them off once! That means they fit well enough for holster use, loading magazines, picking things up off of the ground, playing in my range bag and everything.Just a note: I was encouraged to get plenty of practice without the gloves since, as the instructor pointed out, I will not likely be wearing these gloves when I am carrying. I do go through at least a couple of magazines without these gloves whenever I take the micro to the range, but I also am able to put in a lot more practice with the popper by using these gloves than I would otherwise be able.I highly recommend!

10/10
My husband LOVES these gloves, he is a former cop who had these 20 years ago and now works in the hospitality industry. When he inspecting/cleaning rooms, handles credit cards etc, he doesn’t like touching people’s belongings bare handed. These are a great option for this reason. He also loves using them when we go to the goodwill bins, which comes in handy when you don’t know where the clothes and items have been!

Great gloves, but some drawbacks
These gloves, like all Mechanix gloves, have amazing fit and feel. They are simply the best glove I've ever owned. This model, the .5mm, was purchased for work. They have functioned fine in my 13 hour shifts. I do have some gripes, though. The major one is that there is almost no texturing on the grip side. It's VERY easy to lose grip on things, including steering wheel, unless really paying attention to your grip. Water makes the grip situation worse. Slightly less annoying is the strap placement. Rather than on the underside of the wrist, like all of my other Mechanix gloves, these are on top. There are some occasional bumps that cause them to come loose. Finally, it would be nice if these had the touch screen sensor pads on the pointer fingers. That is really a minimal gripe, tho. I would recommend if grip slippage is not a concern.

Handy, Wearable, and Comfortable
I have bought these twice - one tan and one black set. They are comfortable and great for everyday use. I have the expensive tactical gloves by a fancy brand that I don't wear because they are not properly sized and the thumb has a web of fabric with the index finger. These gloves are properly designed and made with full fingers and no such webbing effect. I got the XXL and they fit like gloves - what a concept. These are not your heavy protection, heavy machinery type devices. These are your everyday tactical - range type - dexterity items to add comfort and skin protection while giving you enough sensitivity for your carrying, stacking, and shopping tasks. Mind you, there are limitations - (1) you don't get to pick up change or pull a credit card out of a wallet wearing these. They would be great to use a tool to do such fine motor tasks, but (2) these are a bit slippery on the palm side and don't give you enough adhesion/friction for some slippery or smooth surfaces (like plastic cards, glass jars, etc.). On that score, I wear them driving even if they do slide a bit on the steering wheel. I am uncertain whether I like that or not - it's comfortable and easy, but I wonder if one should have more surface friction on the wheel. You just have to take them off when you want to grab a card out of your wallet, mainly because they are so comfortable that you are wearing them all the time and expect them to make everything easy. They are gloves after all - and I bet even Audrey Hepburn would have to take her elbow length silk or cotton gloves off to pull our her credit cards at Tiffany's or the UN gift shop. You will enjoy these gloves, but take notice that they can be slick - and you might drop your cell phone if you don't get a good grip using muscle power. Use and enjoy with suitable caution - like all things.
