It is a light plastic stand but it is fine just sitting on a desk. I wouldnt recommend taking it horse back riding.

Guarantee on highlighter pens? No. If they don't work (which they will) then return them.

No they are not waterproof when dry. In fact if a STABILO BOSS highlighter nib dries out, you can put the point into water and it takes it up to get more use out of it.
