Great for my sister
Purchased this for my sister that does not have full use of her dominant hand. THIS has been a life saver for her. Works like a charm and is a safer alternative to the use of a manual serrated knife. It was a great gift!

Good knife, flimsy storge box, inadequate shipping packaging
I purchased this Hamilton Beach electric knife to replace its 25-year-old equivalent. The handle and motor dimensions have changed only slightly, but the blades are exactly the same and still sharp after 25 years of use. The included fork is very flimsy and not near the quality of the 25-year-old one.The biggest disappointment is the plastic storage box which is very thin; too small to easily hold the knife, blades, and fork; and it arrived broken because the shipping packaging was inadequate.Amazon ships this knife set in its original product packaging, which is designed for store shelf display only. There was no shopping box or padding to protect the knife set resulting in the damage shown in the photo. That is Amazon's fault, not Hamilton Beach.Fortunately, I was able to fit the new knife into the 25-year-old storage case which actually has more room in it than the new, broken one.

Great Quality
Replaced a more expensive electric knife and works better! The last Hamilton Beach lasted over 20 years, the more expensive one lasted 4 years. Cuts like butter thru turkey and pork.

Works great!
I had an original version that had to be 50 years old. It finally gave up the ghost - it still worked but wouldn't cut anything - I think we wore all the points off the teeth on the blades. I use this to cut meat and artisan breads that have a thick crust. I gotta have one of these in my kitchen at all times! I expect to have this for another 50 years! It will probably outlive me!
