One starts with 2 per day for several months (or even two in the morning on top of the two at night in severe cases of gum disease or halitosis), and then once one has reached improvement, reduce to one per day and then one can go onto a maintenance schedule of one or two per week.

The oral probiotics are vegan friendly unless you are a very strict vegan. They are grown in a milk base and while almost every bit of milk is consumed in the process it is not possible to guarantee that they are without a trace of milk.
