Very sturdy, well made, in USA
While it may weigh more than a stock aluminum, having a steel fig 8 on the line is far safer and this descender is working so well, I don't mind the extra weight at all. It is good steel, made in the USA (according to the label). Came quickly and in excellent condition, and it works like a dream. Recommend if you need one.

Strong device
I love this thing... since it's strong stainless and heavy i use it as a lowering/friction device in-lew of a portable wrap or other "overkill" option. I'm in Colorado all these trees are tiny..great device, quick to set up and teach to the ground guys...

Feels and looks heavy-duty
At 1st glance it looks nice, but when you put it in your hands. That's when you will notice how solid and heavy-duty it is. I think it will hold up to whatever pace you put it through.

It is build to last and i would recommend this tool
I like the idea that I can use this for my tree trimming to help keep me safe but also planning to use it for my 4 wheeler (atv) as a tool to get me out if I get stuck where I think it will come in handy if I need two leverage points to anchor to. It looks and feels like it can handle just about anything.

Strong, last forever, heavy!
Pro’s: can hold a tank!Con’s: heavy! If this is something that you are going to hook to your harness and not use much get an aluminum one.If you are rescue or law enforcement practicing then this is a good one!

Large and heavy but good for rigging from the ground.
I am an arborist and this is great on the ground but very heavy to carry in the tree when climbing. It is quite large but still great product.

It's gr8 mate
I had originally bought a cheaper steel rescue 8 but was unaware of the cancer causing material they used (reference the photos).Spending a few coin more on U.S. Rigging supplies steel rescue eight was the right choice. It's sturdy, solid, and polished like a granite countertop. I have full confidence in this piece of equipment. I've always preferred steel to aluminum, though both have their pros and cons. I don't mind relinquishing heat reduction over durability and longevity. Id recommend it.
