OXOGood Grips Wooden Turner

Ordered small size and am using it constantly! Personally don't like long spoons so this fit to the tee.It looks well made and sweet. Like to use wooden spoon because it is gentler on food when cooking and stirring. Happy to have found it!

I love this sturdy beautiful spoon. It’s very comfortable and strong for stirring and breaking up the whole canned tomatoes against the side of the pot and for scooping out the sauce. It’s great for tasting the sauce while it’s cooking since the wood makes it cool quicker than a metal spoon, so it’s less likely to burn my mouth. The spoon developed 2 tiny splits after I left it soaking in the sink for several hours. I called OXO customer service and they are sending a new spoon. They said to let them know if it happens again. Excellent, easy to reach customer service!! They said that the splits should not have happened. I found that after the spoon completely dried, the tiny slits had closed. The spoon is very sturdy.

Thick, sturdy, quality wooden spatula. Really impressed with the quality and size. Great value and would purchase again. Would make a great gift too!

This is a decent wooden spoon. Better than what you'll get for a dollar but not much different than other wooden spoons I've bought on here - with one exception....Past attention to the size, lol. I'm sure I'll eventually find a use for it, but apparently I didn't realize there were such little wooden spoons. Maybe for hand mixing frosting or a small batch of cookies? But I don't really make small batches of anything and don't often make frosting.Quality wise, this is decent and not horribly prices. It's the little spoon in my picture next to a standard wooden spoon

This spatula is well made. It is durable, and can handle general daily kitchen use. I would recommend this spatula for anyone looking for a thicker durable, all around spatula. Can be used for stirring, mixing, or as a spatula. Not so good at flipping pancakes (it's thick). Good at most other things. Solid construction, durable, and solid wood.

Beautifully made solid wood, no toxic finishes. Should last for many years.

As I've discovered cooking over the last 10 years I have also discovered the utensils that are indispensable, such as a sturdy wooden stirring spoon. Wood is stout but doesn't damage any cooking surfaces, impart any unwanted taste or leach unhealthful chemicals. I had been using a flat edged salad spoon for years until the tip got gnarly and ragged. I got stars in my eyes and bought a pricey Epicurean wood spoon with a flat, tapered handle, black piping and a round edge. I hated it from the moment I first used it. The handle was uncomfortable. Within 6 months, the black piping started chipping off. Last but not least, the rounded edge made it next to impossible to scrape browned bits, a feature I soon learned I loved about my old salad spoon. After doing some research I realized that what I wanted was a "scraping spoon". So for six bucks I took the plunge on this OXO. I am very happy. It’s comfortable in the hand, scrapes the bottom of a pan with ease, and the corner piece really does help scraping around the edges of pans. I also like that it has some depth to actually hold a fair amount of food/liquid for tasting and even serving. I’ve used it countless times in the last month and a half which is a good sign. I highly recommend this spoon.

As many reviewers pointed out these will crack. I was oiling mine regularly and it still started to crack. Luckily I caught mine early and I was able to sand it with 80 grit to get it out before it spread. I then proceeded up to 240 grit to get it much smoother than what it was like when I bought it. I then liberally spread a lot of food grade mineral oil on it and let it soak in overnight and it’s my favorite spoon ever. I think if it were smoother new and I oiled it liberally before my first use the crack would have never started. It’s the front spoon in the picture and I’m oiling it along with my cutting board and another spoon. I got it super smooth and it feels amazing. It is very thick and easy to hold, so I understand why it is an OXO product. They just really dropped the ball with wood finishing. That being said it took me 20 minutes to restore it and make it better than when I bought it. For the price and the brand this shouldn’t have been something I had to do.
