The Poppy Lady: Moina Belle Michael and Her Tribute to Veterans Hardcover – Picture Book, September 1, 2012

Used this for elementary schoolers to teach about WW1. What a great book with great illustrations.

I was looking for a book to read to a K-8 school for Veterans Day and this was a great option. Supplies information in a beautifully illustrated book.

This is a great book for kids to learn about the significance of Poppy's for Memorial Day and veterans. The drawings are beautiful and the story is great. It honestly makes me tear up every time I read it to my kiddos. The store gives a lot of great background and history without it being to boring or to much for my kids to understand. I would recommend this books to everyone looking for good history story books for their kids.

I found this book when I was doing research for the newsletter for my middle-grade readers. I wanted a way to bring a bit of history for Memorial Day to that age group in a way they would remember and take to heart. This book is the perfect blend along with 'In Flander's Field' poem by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae. The short story I am writing to bring these to together is of two sisters who see red poppies on people passing by and wonder what it is all about, end up making their own and finding out how to help spread the word. Inpirational! Thank you for the story and its history at the back of the book!

The Poppy Lady is an enjoyable, educational biography and inspiring story for children of all ages and adults as well. I found her story and accomplishments very uplifting. The symbol of the poppy flower is very interesting. I now have a new appreciation about the connection between the poppy flower, Moina Bella, and the soldiers. Generations should learn about this and develop an appreciation/respect for all military and veterancontributions.

Love finding understandable books on uncommon history, for children and adults to learn from.

From childhood, I remember seeing the veterans and poppies. I wish everyone could know the significance of the poppies!
