yes it does have probiotics, Lactobacillus plantarum Enterococcus Faceium Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus Acidophilus.My dog responds well his stool is always consistent color and texture.

Q: What is the sodium content?

I emailed Wellness and they gave me the following information: ---37 mg of sodium/100 kcal--- I would definitely choose this food if your dog needs to be on a low sodium diet for health related issues. There is a list of reduced sodium foods that Tufts Uni. Cummings Schoo of Vet. Medicine published and many vets direct patients to this list when they recommend a reduce sodium diet for your dog...notice that the only brands are Hills, Purina, and Royal Canin. These brands use low quality ingredients (my dog was fed Royal Canin for about a month and he had severe itchies/licking from the food, he is eating Wellness now and no more itchies or lickies) And the food with the lowest sodium content of that list is 46 mg of sodium/100 kcal.

Q: What is the protein content of this food

If I remember correctly, it is 28%. I have a new bag coming in tomorrow, and if it is not 28% will advise you. I don't save the bags, but rather I use a storage container with a tight lid. Both of my dogs have lost weight on this dog food and have kept it off. I started them on this food about a year ago. I give them a couple pieces of this dog food as a treat instead of milk bone or something of that nature. They seem perfectly happy and it helps maintain their weight loss. I didn't see a dramatic drop in their weight, but gradually I noticed they were thinner.
