Q: I'm guessing this isn't for set in stains?

It works best for fresh stains. I.E. when you put deodorant on and get to work and realize it's smudged and showing, it'll take it right off! Not as much luck with existing stains, but helps a little.

Yes it does. That was the exact purpose I purchased it for, and it worked quite well. I used it on old white deodorant stains.

The sponge is meant to remove deodorant stains, and it doesn’t remove them. I didn’t try to see if it removes makeup, since it doesn’t even do its primary job

Rinse it in the sink with water.
