I would not put food in here without lining it first. I left soda cans in here for about a week with melted ice and all of the cans ended up with a residue on them that could not be cleaned off. I threw out the remaining cans because I didn't want to risk the contents being compromised.

It’s thin steel, I would say not well. If it was used with some type of dispersement material, like rock as a base it may hold up better. It could be used a few times as a charcoal briquette camp stove, as long as you had a base material to keep the heat from sitting on the metal... I’m not sure what your use would be, so it’s hard to answer the question.🤷🏽♀️
