Nice kettle, good size, easy to clean
I bought this kettle to reduce clutter on the worktops, and I like the look of a traditional kettle standing in the hob.It looks just as it does in the listing. It is a cream colour and it is designed to go to a darker shade at the bottom. I imagine this will help to conceal any burn marks as it ages.It is obviously heavier than lesser kettles but, due to the size, it isn’t problematic to lift when filled. The lid comes off and on easily. The whistle is fine. The handle can be moved to one side when filling, if desired. However, it doesn’t move to the side on a whim and stays in position unless you deliberately move it. The handle doesn’t get hot after boiling and there is no need to use a teatowel to lift off the stove afterwards. It is a sturdy kettle and I can recommend. If you are new to stove kettles, they do take longer to boil than electric ones. However, I use this time to give the floor a quick sweep and it helps me feel productive (and I now have a very clean floor! 😊).I was worried about cleaning marks off without scratching the coating. I use a damp scourer (the kind that’s on one side of the sponge pad in the photo) and softly wipe. This removed all marks without causing damage.I can recommend.

Superb kettle for induction hobs. Very loud whistle and works on ‘Boost’ setting
I’ve been using this kettle for over 18 months several times a day, mainly on my induction job’s boost setting and there have been no issues at all. The recommendation is not to use it on boost but the kettle is still working perfectly so I think this is more a guideline rather than an instruction. The whistle is almost too loud on boost setting on the hob, less so on the normal maximum setting but still perfectly loud several rooms away if doors are left open. The kettle also looks beautiful too. Extremely happy with the purchase.

Good old fashioned kettle
Gone from electric kettle to this which we are using on a gas hob. Performs as expected and looks nice.Purchase price was £64.80. Still quite expensive for a metal pot with spout and lid. I don’t think £100 plus is good value. But there’s very little to go wrong so potentially it will last for many years. Our electric kettle was half the money but the switch has broken after 2 years.Boil time is 8-10 mins on a medium sized burner. The whistle worked fine and sounded like a kettle should. Of course this is considerably slower than an electric kettle but you can do quick kitchen tidy while it heats up. In the summer it will be quicker I suppose as the tap water won’t be quite so icy cold. Funnily enough a cheap camping kettle is going to boil faster due to the lightweight metal construction but it won’t look as posh.Other advantage is we have cleared some space from the worktop as this kettle lives on the stove.Pouring water out of the spout works fine. If you need the last little bit then expect it to dribble everywhere. Didn’t understand complaints about the lid being too tight. It is tight enough to stay on. Handle gets warm but it’s ok.Tea was nice.

Quality no where near good enough for price
I’ve had this kettle for less than two years and it has already started to degrade. The internal coating of the kettle has started to come away and leaves black bits in my water once poured. Really disappointing for such a supposedly high end product. Don’t waste your money.

A purchase that has made me very happy.
I have coveted a stove-top kettle for a very long time, & decided to purchase this Le Creuset one as it was at such a good price. It is beautiful & matches the tiles in my kitchen. It's easy to fill, has a sturdy handle so the kettle is steady when you pour.....But the best thing is its whistle. Oh! The memories that sound evokes: being in my mamgu's (Welsh grandmother) house, she in her wrap-around apron, in the kitchen making a pot of tea. Lovely! It doesn't take long to boil & it's easy to clean, & if you're worried about its weight, well, it's nowhere near as heavy as Le Creuset casserole pots so is easy to handle. An excellent purchase that has made me very happy.
