Fits the space of old 36 inch electric cooktop and works fine
I spent days looking online and in stores for a new cooktop when my old 48-year-old electric coil cooktop finally died. I settled on this cooktop. It arrived quickly, and was well packaged, and had no damage. I had it installed 4 months ago and am happy with it. The only negative is that it has two small burners in the two front spots. It would be a better design if they had a small burner on one side in the front and a medium burner on the other side in the front. For things where you have a larger size pan in which you are cooking something that needs stirring, like scrambled eggs or sauce, it is inconvenient to have to reach to a back burner to do the stirring. Also the 5th burner in the center with two sizes is really too large in both sizes for most pots and pans. It looks like it is more for a restaurant with huge pots. The other negative thing , but it would have been true for any cooktop I saw, was that I had to get a new 50 amp line run into my house with its own fuse box. That made getting a new cooktop quite expensive. I wish they still made the old coil cooktops without all the fancy things like quick boil that require the added amps. For those who may have worries whether this will fit in an old opening, my old opening was a little bigger than they recommended but smaller than the dimensions of the cooktop. I took a chance and it worked out fine. They provide two brackets for you to put on the underneath side of the counter to give the cooktop extra support. Because my counter was thin, the brackets extended below the cooktop and so would not have given extra support. But I found some things in a toolbox that filled the space between the bottom of the bracket and the cooktop. (One filler was an old lock from a locker). I also bought 4 more brackets at the hardware store so I would not have to worry at all about support all around the cooktop.. Another big worry I had ahead of time was that the power cord would interfere with a drawer under the cooktop. The specification picture makes it look like the cord is on the side, but it is actually far back, which I wanted. It would have interefered a little with the drawer but I found a hook to hold the cord against the back wall behind the drawers and so the fit is perfect.

Replacement Cooktop
Very satisfied with the purchase. Quality Frigidere product. Works perfectly. Installation measurements are accurate. The cooktop has a factory-installed wiring cable. The connection was straightforward. The Gallery Model has a nice stainless steel accent strip that matches the existing appliances. Nice upgrade.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! Sorry for the length of this review but a lot happened. Ordered first time and stovetop showed up damaged and glass top was shattered. Returned, exchanged for new one, arrived Feb 28, 2025, item looked good. Didn't get around to install until April 3rd after the return window, installed stovetop and front burner did not work. Had to go through Frigidaire warranty because return window was closed. They sent out a technician to solve the issue, he ended up making a mistake and fried the whole unit. They didn't have the part and will take 10 days to receive and then set up repair window. I called Frigidaire warranty and request a replacement stove as their technician fried my unit and I can not cook anything until it is replaced. They would not budge so I have to wait 10-12day to see if the item can be repaired. It does not seem acceptable that they damaged my stovetop during warranty work and will not replace, but rather make me wait 10-12 days without a cooktop...FRIGIDAIRE CUSTOMER SERVICE ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!!!!!!

Packaging is terrible
You would think that for something labelled as "ceramic glass" they could invest another $2 into the box. Tape had broken on two edges, and I was surprised the unit didn't slide out. Installed easy enough if you're at all handy and know what a single-phase circuit is (installing in a marble countertop should be by a professional.) However, the brackets they give you to support the undercarriage are useless unless your cabinet frame was designed to have a 5-inch mount height below the countertop, and your counter-top hole tolerance is close. Mine have a 1.5x1.5 crossmember that's not nearly deep enough to mount the bracket far enough down to be under the unit. I may have to augment the cabinet frame if heavy cooking loads flex the unit too much. I would not recommend the weight of commercial stockpots on this cooktop. The ceramic glass isn't as thick as the one replaced. I'll attribute that to an improvement in ceramics rather than cheaping out. The elements get very hot very fast. If you're used to a 30-amp model, you'll need to tone down the cooking settings. A 5 is now a 3. A 6 is now a 4. Careful with non-stick. Above 5 or 6, the elements generate enough heat to permanently scorch the pan coating. I've seen some say "no cast iron." That's true if you can't lift it directly up off the top. If you have to slide it off, forget it. A simple wipe with a clean paper towel before you turn the unit on as well as swiping the bottom of your pots has saved a ton of scratches and stains. The pots tend to pick stuff up from the counter, so I use a hand towel laid flat and give the pot a swipe before it goes on the burner. You'd be surprised what comes off. Now, to see how long the unit lasts.

Good Upgrade
Installed this item about a month ago and we like it alot. It's slightly over sized and fits very snuggly in 30 x 21 inch cut out. So check your measurements twice. It slightly larger and has much better build quality than our old cheap cook top. Which was less than $300. We like the look and the knobs are so much easier to use than touch screen type buttons. The knobs can be easily be bumped and turned on accidentally. There is no lock out function. So be careful with pets and kids who might accidentally bump a knob and start a fire.Elements get very hot very fast and change temp quickly. At least compared to our old "cheap" cook top. Very satisfied with it, for now.
