This saved my dog!
This just saved me and my dog!!I was walking my dog when I saw a dog beeline it straight toward us. It snarled and started coming after my dog. This dog was trying to get to my dog's neck. Since the pet corrector was clipped to my treat bag, I was able to get it out and spray the dog. The dog instantly retreated. It smelled like essential oils, so even getting it on my dog didn't harm anything.I'm so thankful it worked! It saved my dog from a major vet bill and possibly me from getting bit!

A must-have for walks
I have a reactive dog, so I bought this after being chased by several off-leash dogs in my neighborhood. Now, I don’t walk without it. It is a great deterrent. One spray, and the dogs turn around and leave us alone.

Easy to use and size is convenient
Luckily I have not had to actually use this product yet so I cannot attest to how it works to deter another animal. I bought it to bring on walks in my neighborhood as there are occasionally loose dogs out and there are a ton of reactive dogs in my neighborhood and I'm always scared that one of them will get away from the owner and I wanted something to protect my dog with. The size is small so that it is convenient to carry in my pouch and lightweight. The red switch that you flip is easy to use. If I feel threatened I've taken it out and held it with the switch on the on position and it's super easy to do that in an emergency. I like that there's an off and on so you don't accidentally spray yourself.

Excelente producto

Doesn’t work!
An off leash dog suddenly ran up and started attacking my dog. I immediately grabbed the spray and started spraying the off leash dog in the face. The dog had zero response to the spray and kept going after my dog.

We have used it more than once
We have used this spray more than once to stop a bad situation from escalating. This review isn’t speculation, it’s from experience and the TLDR is you should be carrying this on every walk.First, let’s talk about what it is NOT. It is NOT pepper spray. That is both good and bad.The good news is that you will not do any damage or cause pain to yourself, your dog, or any other animal. The bad news is that because it does not cause pain, it may not be effective at stopping a truly red-zoned attack. What it DOES do is produce a decent strength stream of pressurized water with a slight citronella scent. It’s designed to annoy and deter by interrupting the situation. Think of it as a quick blast from a super soaker. It’s very easy to use, just flick and press. Aim for the head and you do not need to worry about hitting your own dog as again, it is not pepper spray. It’s best when used before an encounter gets physical. We have a husky that is always on leash. Unfortunately it seems there are far too many people who ignore leash laws despite not having any recall and can’t tell when their dog is being aggressive (and as any husky owner knows, huskies seem to trigger an abnormal number of aggressive reactions from other dogs). A squirt from this results in a confused sputtering dog, but no yelps of pain and no trips to the vet. We’ve used this 3-4 times, and it has defused the encounter every time.Only downside? The clip adhesive is awful. Get some super glue or a pouch, because it’s a “when” it detaches, not “if”.

A Must-have for Walking in Areas with Loose Dogs
I always carry a canister of PetSafe SprayShield when I walk my leash-reactive pit bull mix, Joe. I take great care to walk Joe at times when there aren't a lot of people and dogs out, but I live in an area where loose dogs are common. Usually my husband and I walk Joe together, so if we encounter a loose dog, I handle Joe and my husband discourages the loose dog from approaching (he has the magic touch!).This morning, I walked Joe by myself, and we encountered a friendly bulldog-looking dog who was loose and wanted to come to us. I issued a "stay" command, which he ignored. I pulled out the SprayShield and had it ready. When the dog got within 10 feet of us, I sprayed the air between us. He stopped, looked a little perplexed, and turned around and when back in the direction from which he came. (I suspect that was back home!)I am impressed with how effective SprayShield is. The encounter with the bulldog could have been a bad situation. Joe will hurt a loose dog who gets close to him. Some dogs are not friendly to other dogs, and Joe is like that. My husband and I take precautions to keep everyone safe, and the SprayShield is a great tool to have handy. I'm ordering a second can for my husband to carry as well.I don't know if SprayShield will work for every dog, in every situation, but I recommend carrying a canister if you are concerned about being approached by loose dogs.

Red button to activate keeps popping off
I carry this at a friend's recommendation (this friend happens to be a veterinarian!) after my dog was attacked by a neighbor's dog. Unfortunately, they red button to activate the spray keeps popping off. I don't know if I got a bad one, or if this is a design flaw.
