Electric Tortilla Press Maker Chapati Machine Flour Burrito Roti Press (8 IN)

My father discovered this little miracle through watching a woman use it in a YouTube video. He showed it to me, talking about how we always have problems with our flour tortillas shrinking back when we roll them out, issues with using way too much flour so that things won’t stick, and making a huge mess. He seemed so excited about it so I purchased this about a month before his birthday. When he opened this, he was extremely excited. If it hadn’t been after dinner already, he probably would’ve had me making tortillas right then and there!The next morning, we tried this baby out and it is the best investment we could make. It is worth the money, is a good quality, and does a great job.There was definitely a learning curve:1. Read the directions. They are provided in both English and Spanish, and they are very clear on how to prep and use the machine. There is even a recipe included.2. Have your dough balls ready and resting before you even plug it in.3. And for the love of all that is good and holy, let it preheat! It can take up to 20 minutes for it to preheat completely - but believe me, the wait is worth it and your flour tortilla balls should rest that long anyway.4. Remember this is meant to prep/precook tortillas, not char them. Have a comal preheated on the stove if you want to cook them right away.You will absolutely be amazed by how easy this is to use once you get it down. We didn’t use even a dusting of flour beyond the recipe - there was no mess! And a whole batch of a dozen tortillas was pressed and cooked in less than 15 minutes.

100% recommend this product! Let the press warm up for 15 mimutes and you are good to go. Very easy to use, tortilla will not fly out when pressed like other electric press. Use the press to strech out the tortilla and then finish cooking it in a griddle.

We tried a non-heated tortilla press previously, but it did not do a good job for us (tortillas shrank). We then saw a guy on youtube making flour tortillas with a heated press and we thought we would try this one. We are new to this, so we were not sure what we were doing. We lived in Texas for many years and just bought fresh HEB tortillas, but now we live in Puerto Rico and we wanted fresh homemade flour tortillas. This press is great. We press them in this machine for about 10 seconds and the finish them in the skillet on the stove. Just like the guy on youtube. We do have to shape them like a hamburger patty so they do not slide off the press, but no big deal there. We just let it warm up (closed) for 15-20 minutes before we started and then let it reheat in the closed position while we finish off each tortilla in the skillet at about 300F. Works great, but do not be in a hurry.

I’m very happy with my tortilla maker !I read the reviews before I bought it and one said that it didn’t heat enough to make the tortillas but I think the person didn’t read the instructions.I plugged in and leave it for 15 min. After I started to make my tortillas and work perfectly.I completely recommend it.Only one thing I cleaned with oil and a napkins and it was hard to take the stain out of the plates.So I have to used parchment paper to make the tortillas .

This tortilla press is the best! Although it is for par cooking flour tortillas, and then finishing on a comal, I bought it because I saw a YouTube video (Cocina con Adela) where the lady cooked the most perfectly thin corn tortillas with this press. So actually this press has dual use. You can also press quesadillas and also empanadas, so multiuse. Also, the seller I purchased from (Oro Imports) was extremely courteous and helpful and most importantly super prompt in shipping to me. I ordered on a Sunday night and received it early Tuesday. So he actually shipped it right away. This was a very top notch online sales experience.

I’ve been making sourdough tortillas for quite a while now, but the rolling always takes forever and lots of extra flour.The this eliminates both, you still have to finish charring/cooking on the stove, but this has significantly cut down my time with making homemade tortillas. Also makes them all uniform and perfectly round.Highly recommend! Worth every penny.

I had to return this tortilla presser for a simple reason ...the heat was not enough to make the flour tortillas.
