Works well
Great design

This works
I moved into a new place and the gate latch looked similar to this one, but the gate constantly popped open and let the dogs out. I searched for a better option and found this gate latch. My gate is secure and no longer pops open. I did screw the base into the wooden gate. it is very secure. Finally.

Nice Latch
Purchased this latch for my new gate construction and it installed easily and works great. I did see them in HD after my order was placed for about the same price. If, and its a big if, I could count on HD having what I wanted I would have bought these locally.

Latch is a bit light but good overall
The media could not be loaded. The weight of the wire I have attached to the latch on this thing is heavy enough (?) so that the latch doesn't hang down, you know what I mean? I need to manually adjust the latch forward on its hinge so that when I close the gate the striker strikes the inside-back of the latch and causes it to fall/close.The one I took off seemed a bit heavier. Can I glue something onto the latch to make it heavier? Or put on a blob of JBWeld, something like that? I can't rely on my kids to pull a little slack through the gate so that the latch is in the closed position. So overall, this made-in-China (hmmm) thing is good, solidly made, I got it installed without too much trouble... unsure just what the point of the "auto adjust" striker is, it's just wobbly in its anchor. At least I've got a working latch on that gate again. I sprayed the working bits with some kind of Teflon WD-40 type of spray I had on hand hoping that would make it work easier. I'll keep fiddling with it and see if I can't figure out how to get the latch to return to the closed position once it's open so that when the gate shuts the latch operates.

Feels rugged
Easy install on my gate fence. Stainless steel is nice.
