It does fly
I wasn’t sure how to rate this product. I have small dogs with Eagles in the area. I bought this to help keep them away. When I got this I immediately put this up without checking the weather first. That day went from calm in the morning to winds of over 80mph.I had left to get something from the store . As I was driving home I saw my eagle kite flying in the air. I attempted to give chase but that was useless. So if anyone fines this kite please let me know where it touched down at. Just like to know how far it went.It was easy to assemblyIt was very big and was holding up well in high winds and…It does fly well. lol.

Geese beware
We use this on our pier to keep the geese away along with their disgusting detritus. It does a reasonably good job providing the wind is strong enough to keep the kite flying.

Deterrent for geese and ducks.
Seems to be working.

Good start. Broke after a couple of weeks
The media could not be loaded. Update 4/25/23.The hawk kite is long gone and never worked. But this year I taped bird away tape around the pole and placed it near the spot we are trying to prevent nesting. So far, it seems to be working. The pigeons who were attracted to the hawk last year aren’t coming back. So, the pole seems helpful when combined with another product. Still a one star because the advertised kite is ineffective and blew away in the first heavy gust. The hardware that secures the kite broke off, nowhere to be found.Meanwhile, the kite seemed effective for scaring some of the pigeons out of the immediate vicinity. A few persistent birds were not phased without human intervention. The defiantly perched on the roof next to the kite or fed in the grass under the kite.Shaking the pole a few times a day seemed to make the kite a bit more intimidating. When that didn’t work, jumping up and down and waving my arms worked. But that defeats the purpose of “humane” interventions. The kite required daily maintenance. The pole regularly collapsed, no matter how tightly the sections were secured, and the string became so tangled around the pole that it could not be unwound without cutting it with a knife and replacing it. The instructions say to put the pole at an angle to prevent tangling but the angle doesn’t seem to make a difference. We will keep the kite. My grandson will enjoy playing with it. I might even get some use for the pole by draping scare tape from it.Otherwise, I like the concept but it was a failure.

Nice but needs high winds
This went together very easily, we live in Kansas where we have a lot of wind but it is not enough to fly the kite most days.

It works, but you have to be sensible about its limitations
It’s rare I’d rate anything as five stars, and yes there is a risk that in high gusty winds, the pole might snap or the kite come loose BUT, here’s the thing, it does what it’s supposed to do! We were sick of birds (attracted by our neighbour's incessant habit of encouraging sparrows and vermin) of messing on our patio furniture and fencing. The moment we installed ‘Harry-the-Hawk’ not a single bird landed in our garden. They’re all still visiting our neighbors bird feeders but they stay away from our property; I have been amazed and impressed at this non-intrusive way of keeping the birds from messing on our property.Of course, we take the pole down when high winds are forecast, and it works less well when there’s no breeze, but on the whole, it’s a success for us.One tip, use a bosuns knot (or bowline) when tying the kite to the string, its a knot that tightens the more force is applied.

Doesn't bother the birds
Doesn't bother the birds near my garden. It takes a pretty good breeze to get this thing flying. It just hangs there, floating back and forth. It's not worth the money.

It works
We have this in our garden instead of a scarecrow it works very well. I would recommend it. This is my second one the first last 3 years.
