SILCA Secret Chain Hot Melt Wax Chain Lubricant for Bicycles with Nano-Scale Tungsten Disulfide, 500 Grams

Just started waxing and it seems I picked a winner! I got many more miles out of a single waxing than advertised. I waxed my chain at the very end of April and counted all of my rides/miles in May, just over 400 and was just starting to make some noise. To be fair, it was very favorable conditions. I rode in very moderate temperatures early I the morning in Florida with no rain or water on the road. Very happy to be rid of the greasy mess!

Great Wax Blend, lasts a long time and works great. Make sure you stir it periodically while the chain is in the wax up until the point you remove it. Pairs fantastic with Silca's chain waxing system.

I bought the Silca system. Waxing a new chain using their strip chips and the Silca wax was incredibly easy. Now that I have my Mountain and Gravel bike chains waxed, I’ll never go back. Kind of like going tubeless. You didn’t know what you were missing until you tried. I can’t even hear my chains on wither bike and they are so smooth.

Bike chain is much more efficient with hot wax than using lube and I can go hundreds of miles in between waxing. This wax works really well well. I’ve used it for several years and will never go back to using a bike lube.

First time waxing chain and it was easy. I would suggest that you just get an inexpensive crock pot to melt the wax, and figure out a way to let the wax drip back into the crock pot when you pull the chain out. Watch some Youtube videos first and the process will go smoothly. Most important, clean the chain first. Given the initial time investment, start with a new chain and I would definitely Silca Chain stripper and wax prep. That stuff works really well.

I’ve been waxing my chains on all my bikes for years, I have never had a running gear be as smooth and quiet as it is with Silca. I’m not a watt-ranger, but I do geek out on the numbers and I feel like I’m faster without much degradation of the wax. I am a clean freak and I love not having a greasy mess of a chain.

Great product! Tip: if doing the sous vide method, recommend using ziplock bags to melt smaller quantities of wax (a lot faster than melting the whole silca bag…)

Hope the nono-scale tungsten disulfide is not just an advertising gimmick. I have no comparison to PTFE. PTFE is cheaper $4 for 500 grams. and so i have to rely on companies word. Expensive but Price reduced after xmas from 42.50 to 32.00. No money back guarantee for lowest price guarantee???.Any suggestions on how to do a test on chain lubes. This appears to keep chain from getting dirty similar to the PTFE and wax mix.
