Greenworks 24V 10" Cordless TORQDRIVE™ String Trimmer , Battery and Charger Not Included

The product works great. I LOVE not having to fight string! Lightweight so just lugging it around doesn’t wear you out.Two minor - I had to order a larger battery as I couldn’t complete all my trimming with the small battery. The battery that comes with the tool is sufficient for small areas and the tool has enough power to do what I needed.The replacement plastic cutters are not available (or that I could find) on Amazon or from Greenworks themselves. I did find a knock off and it doesn’t fit as nicely as the blades that come with it but still work.

Had this long enough to have used it plenty now. Wanted to try it out more than once or twice to really review it. I had trouble at first getting the head to twist to the side or back. Also had trouble getting the line spool out. But after using it more, these things got easier & are no problem now. They were just very new & still at first & I have hand/arm strength problems anyway. So if you get this, don't be so fast to send it back!! I almost did that, but now I love it, have no problem with the twisting parts moving like I want, & the adjustable length is a godsend. I read a lot of reviews for many trimmers & it seems to be a repeating problem that auto line feeds don't let the string out or let it all out. I have to say I've had NO PROBLEM at all with the line feed at all. In fact this is the only trimmer I've ever used that I can say that about!! It was very heavy for me at first, until I pushed the handle as short as it would go, & that balanced the weight for me so it was easy to use. I'm an older woman w/ arm weakness, & If I can get it to where I can use it easily, any woman should be able to do the same without much of an issue with the trimmer weight. This trimmer works well, stays plugged in tightly, has nice features that make cutting in different situations easy (I use it turned sideways along fences for climbing vines quite often), & feeds the line at just the right rate to not use up a whole spool in a single use. I do recommend buying a spare line spool to keep ready for a fast switch tho. I rewind them myself using .065 round line. The dual line feed spool isn't hard to rewind at all. This 15" GreenWorks Corded Trimmer is one of the best buys I made this year, & for sure the best trimmer I've ever used--frustration free.

Giving it 5 stars for ease of use, quality. Buying it without the 24V battery (already have one for another Greenworks product) made the price very attractive! After 34 years of a corded trimmer I thought I deserved something lightweight and cord free ;)Assembly was mostly ok, but putting the shafts together required some ooomph (I used rubber gloves for a better grip). Also, the manual should tell you to throw away the rubber thingies that are evidently just for packaging and shipment.

The corded trimmer works fine but the cutting line is terrible. The line gets caught in itself and will not extend out as it is supposed to. You have to keep taking the reel off and untangling the line, which is very time consuming and frustrating. All of the replacement reels ordered are the same way, they are just not wound around the reel properly. Would not purchase or would not recommend purchasing this trimmer. I am going to fight with it for the season because i have purchased so many replacement reels, then dump it and get another trimmer that I have researched for and should be a lot better. I tried the replacement head with the blades on it, but the head busted the first time using it, that was no good either.They need to update or do some more research on their line feed and replacement reels.After many attempts to try to get this trimmer to work it is insanely annoying and i wound up throwing it out and all of the extra line that i purchased for it. DON'T BUY THIS TRIMMER, GET A MUCH BETTER ONE AT HOME DEPOT OR LOWES WITH BETTER CONTROL ON THE LINE, AND STRONGER LINE, THIS LINE THAT COMES WITH IT IS TOO WEAK TO WITHSTAND ANY OBSTACLES THAT YOU HAVE TO CUT AROUND.

I am a senior female. This is my first cordless trimmer and I am glad I purchased it for the ease in moving to different parts of my large lawn to trim or outright cut grass that my mower can't.The benefits are the long lasting battery charges, relatively light weight, no cord to trip on, and the original spool of string that has gone two years without needing replacement. Another great feature is the owner's manual that came with it being easy to read and understand. I recommend reading it because this is different from the previous corded one I had & will make your experience with it so much better. For instance, look at the cut direction stamped right at the base.I have a small Greenworks chainsaw and the battery is the same so I have spares, if needed.As a side note I did purchase a couple extra spools of string, not knowing how long the original would last because some manufacturers make what comes with their product skimpy. That isn't the case with this.I hang this up by the handle in my garage along with my rakes & other tools which I find convenient for having it off the floor.

I am extremely disappointed in greenworks re. this trimmer. It is advertised as:Greenworks 24V 10" Cordless STRING Trimmer/Weed WackerMy Stihl trimmer works with both blades and string. I expected this one would work that way as well. Particularly since it is called a STRING trimmer. I feel the name is very deceptive. It should be advertised as a BLADE trimmer.

It;s a badass in a good way. Just gotta find the best and most durable brand of string.
