I got this and a bag of 50 golf ball-sized wiffleballs as an additional hitting station for practices for my son's AAA Little League team that I'm managing. The kids love it, they think it's fun to try to hit the smaller wiffleballs. I don't have any real proof, but I believe it's also helping their hand-eye coordination a lot--between the small size of the golf ball wiffleballs and the narrow bat barrel it takes real concentration to make good contact.I was very impressed with the quality of the bat as well. It's thick-walled aluminum, so even though it's very narrow it feels like it's not going to bend or dent without some real force. Granted these are 9yo boys, so it's probably a matter of time before someone dings it, but it's held up remarkably well so far.

Great item, priced fair here on Amazon. And this is going to help a kid with many different things from bat timing to building confidence. If you can hit these consistently you will be hitting the ball with a normal sized bat with no issue..

Love this tool, the balls that came with it were trash, but you can find soft ones cheap at bigger department stores. soft toss few times a weeks with it. good cuz it does not get him tired since its so light, really helps hand eye coordination.

I did buy a couple of sets of the SKLZ mini impact balls to accompany this bat (which WERE $9.99 for 12 and are now $19.99 for 12 son Amazon!), but I found the cost of the SKLZ bat to be prohibitive. This bat is the same dimensions and weight as the SKLZ bat. My husband and I toss the mini balls to our grandson and although he is naturally athletic, it has been fun to watch him become very accurate at hitting those little targets with this thin bat. Years ago when my husband took our son to a batting coach, he used a similar setup and would toss 2 balls simultaneously and call out "upper" or "lower" and my son would need to hit the ball that was called out. It's just another way to hone their reflexes. BTW if you're looking for other training tools, we also bought our grandson the SKLZ Hurricane Category 4 Batting Swing Trainer for Baseball and he has been hitting away in his basement all winter. Now being out at the park watching him hit, it is obvious his accuracy and swing have greatly improved. SKLZ also makes excellent practice soccer equipment for your budding soccer player...
