If you need a replacement charger for an older Kindle this is a good replacement
I have an 06 Kindle that the charger cord that wore out and no longer had a good connection. This replacement did the job , so I can now recharge without a problem.

I should have returned it on day 1.
I bought this charger last month and right from the get-go noticed it was not charging as quickly as my other fast chargers but decided to keep it anyway, honestly just because I didn't want to hassle with a return. Last night I kept noticing an electrical burning smell, and after unplugging devices and re-plugging into different receptacles, I thought I had found the culprit, however about an hour later when I smelled it again and went to check the status of my tablets charge, I unplugged it and gave myself a nice little burn. The plug was so hot, I'm surprised it hadn't already caught fire. It is slightly melted at the point where the 2-piece adapter fits together. I was going to return it this morning, but my return window was closed. buyer beware.
