Gets the job done
We use these to process our own whole chicken. They work well for the job and are easy to use: Put the chicken in the bag, insert straw into cavity, twist as tightly closed as possible, seal with twist tie, dunk in hot water for 5-6 seconds (I just counted “1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi” etc), set on the counter for 10 sec, pull the straw out and pull zip tie closed. The instructions give a temperature range, but I couldn’t find my thermometer the day we did the chickens so I just got it to a low boil/simmer and it worked fine. If it doesn’t shrink, increase the temperature.A couple of things to be careful of if you have never used these before:1) don’t squeeze air out before tying off initially… or if you do be careful. I had a spray of chicken juice spew out of the straw and get all over the wall and in my hair before I figured out it wasn’t really necessary. That was fun. Ugh.2) be careful when freezing. No matter how tight you can pull the zip tie closed - or think you have pulled it - inevitability there will be some leakage if the zip tie end is placed downward at all. This year was our second year to use these. We had chicken juice all over the bottom of the freezer last year. But this year I very deliberately stacked them so the zip tie end was upward and we had no leaks!3) while these are very sturdy bags a sharp enough, protruding bone can puncture them. We haven’t had any trouble with punctures when doing whole birds, but did when trying to do backs or feet. But these bags aren’t designed for that, it was just an experiment on our part. Also, like any plastic, they will be brittle while frozen. Only true tear we had was when the bag was frozen to the bottom of the freezer (see comment about leaking if upside down).Over all, I like these bags. I have used them two years in a row and have recommended them to friends. I will most likely order them again, at least for my own birds.

Very good bags
I normally buy shrink bags from Texas but these were just as good, and the same price. I was skeptical at first since they felt different, but they shrank up perfectly. No problems. And my customers were happy. I'd buy them again.
