Love this fan! Must buy.
Love this fan! It's not huge but it works perfect in my bedroom. Love how there are different fan modes like sleep, refresh, white noise. You can also have it roate and place on a timer!

Perfect for Smaller Rooms!
Pro: I purchased this before several years ago and it was perfect for my bedroom because it keeps the air circulating all year round and that keeps my room temperature from getting too cold or too warm. It's not a strong fan so it doesn't blow papers off my dresser or desk, and it's about 4 feet away from where I sleep so I appreciate that feature. Yes, it's only one tiny fan, but the multiple settings and super quiet setting is great for me. If you need a living room type fan, this isn't it. Look elsewhere. I purchased another one just like it, and I'm very happy with this model and love the small footprint!. Recommended.Con: None for me.

Honest opinion for a small fan
So face it folks there will never truly be a quiet fan as long as there is fluid-dynamics and acoustics. Those two are the reasons why fan blades will always make noise when moving through the air.First off the price is pretty reasonable for a good little fan like this. It actually does what it is implied it will do. Move a decent amount of air at a reduced noise level. While not whisper quite. The high setting is about as loud as my Toyota's a car windshield defroster fan set on the first speed setting. The low setting is about as loud as any white noise making sleep aid set on normal volume.Yes it's totally true. It is just a small fan, like the ones used to cool a computer, and the rest is about 60% plastic housing. But hey that's Amazon's shipping theory, 40% product, 60% packing. But I digress. Another contributing factor to fan noise is how much air flow interference does the fan housing cause. This model has a small fan with a whole lot of grill work around it. They could have made the "mini-monolith" a bit smaller but it is possible the size allows better air flow. The different speed settings are relabeled as "White Noise" - low, "Refresh" - medium, and "Power Cool" - High."Sleep" appears to be just a little bit slower than "White Noise" so it does help reduce the sound signature. It does have some nice features like:- Separate power and speed selection button. Your current speed stays the same when you power on and off.- Lighted speed indicator that shows what speed is currently selected. Plus the indicator light is self dimming so when it's on indicating the selected setting, like "Sleep", there isn't a disturbing amount of light.- Timer with a lighted selection indicator. Shows the numerals 2, 4, 8. That is the amount of hours it will stay on before shutting down.- Oscillation setting. Allows it to rotate to cover a area. The entire upper fan housing rotates on the base. It is a clever design that you couldn't tell was there because the fit of the base to the housing is done quite well. Now I have not had this happen to me but some folks are complaining that it tips over easy and when it strikes the floor the fan blades break. Yes, it is true the fan housing is rigid so when the fan hits the floor the blades shift and impact the housing. This is typically true of these small fans as they are built with tight tolerances between the blades and housing. However I can testify that I have my fan on a side table. The one cat we have likes to rub the side of her face on it and will butt her head against. It will lean a bit when this happens but it always comes back to rest on it's base in a upright manner.Hope this helps in your decision making process.

If you're on the fence, don't be
I'm a supersvisor at my job and we work in a quiet, cubicle environment where the temperature ranges from freezing to melting. All the other "quiet" desk fans I've tried have been too noisy to hear what's going on around me which I don't like. This takes up minimal space on my desk and even on sleep mode, it's pretty powerful. I love all the settings that it offers too.Others that I looked at were either the same price with only one or two speeds or more expensive with less features. I generally leave this on the white noise setting and have it oscillating all day. It's amazing. Even on the highest setting, it's still the quietest fan in the office. Well worth the money.

Good but Wasted potential
Pros: Quiet, Easy clean, Repairable for someCons: Small volume of air compared to rivals, Wasted spaceUnlike the squirrel cage fan this replaced,https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027G1FPY/this axial fan is has a much smaller column of air. The Lasko is actually comprised of two radial fans that can have the airflow of each directed separately. This Honeywell fan uses a single 80mm axial type fan that you would find in most desktop computer cases. One of the up sides to this type of fan is there are plenty of off the shelf products that were specifically designed for quiet operation, and it would also make it easy to fix/upgrade for most handy people. This fan is quieter by a large margin, but it's not moving as much air either. The big problem with this fan is the absolute waste of space in the design. You could easily fit two 80mm fans in the existing case and would have an absolute powerhouse of a desktop fan. Instead, they opted to put the single fan smack in the middle of the column with nothing but wasted plastic that make it much taller than it needs to be. You could chop off the top third of this fan and have the exact same experience. The do have a cupped recess at the top that acts as a handle, but the fan weights nothing at all and it's thin enough to just grip the column without any issue. They could have been clever with a single fan design and make the fan adjustable up and down the column so you could really fine tune where the air is directed. Or even mounted it to a rotating axle so you could angle the air up and down. But this fan really yearns to have two fans.I do consider this an upgrade, but very disappointed about what it could be. Time will tell if it is durable, but I predict this simple design should last a good while.

Makes my whole office cooler!
Great little desktop fan. A little louder than I'd like, but I love that I can set a timer so it goes off at the end of the day. It's a personal fan, but I do notice that the rest of the room feels cooler too. It moves a lot of air to be so small!

So worth it!
Works amazingly! Came already assembled. Not too loud, but has a louder setting if you want that. Has really great off put.
