No. It converts a SD/SDI or HD/SDI signal to HDMI. SDI is the standard professional video signal with embedded audio. You need an analog or composite to HDMI converter.

I have a new tv with an hdmi connection but no coaxil connection. i am looking for a coaxil to hdmi converter only for tv use, no dvr/dvd use.

If your TV only has an HDMI connection then it does not have a tuner. This means you can not hook up a feed from an antenna or from your cable provider because you would have no way to tune in a channel. You need to get a cable box or a off air receiver to tune in your channels. Either one of those boxes will have a HDMI out put that you can then run to your TV. This SDI to HDMI box will not work. What you are calling a TV is actually a monitor. A TV has a tuner built in, monitors do not.

I don't have any signal at hdmi output... I need help please

In my case, I connected the SDI output of a Marshall pan, tilt and zoom camera to the converter and it worked fine. Make sure that your camera (or other source) is set to output SDI. My camera had dip switches on the back. Then check the coax cable with an ohm meter. Should work fine.
