Kitchen Tested, Cook Approved
I've been a cook for 15 years, and I've gone through A LOT of chef pants. If you are reading this review you probably work in a kitchen and are needing something sturdy, comfortable, affordable, and good looking. These pants certainly fit all of those criteria. If you are used to traditional chef pants, you might be thinking these pants would be the same in the way of material. They certainly are not as soft as the run of the mill chef pants, and feel a bit like a thick wind breaker coat material. They are breathable, and maybe even more breathable than a traditional chef pant. I'm wearing these KNG Black Cargo pants as I write this review, and just came home from work in them. As I stepped into the walk in refrigerator today for the first time in these pants... I felt a little colder than I usually do with my other pairs of chef pants, This may be an issue for those of you who work in an establishment that has a walk in freezer, but my place of employment does not have a walk in freezer... so I cannot comment on how well they may perform in a walk in freezer.FIT - I'm a 6' tall male that wears 34 30 size pants while I'm not working. Using the sizing guide provided on Amazon, I ordered a Large pair. These pants do fit my legs well and are a straight leg fit, not a baggy fit as some other styles of chef pants can be. Unfortunately the pants were about 34'' long and look baggy around my shoes if I have the waist of the pants at my waist.POCKETS - I know this is a big issue with other chef pants, and we're all looking for the perfect pair of pants. These pants have one pocket in the back (right side) that is pretty deep, but no pocket on the left size on the back of the pants... which is sort of a let down in a pair of pants that you expect to have extra pockets. I can fit my large hands in each of the side pockets almost all the way up to my wrist, and they seemed to hold my personal items in my pocket all day. There are two cargo pockets on this pair of pants. The cargo pocket on the right leg of the pants is fairly large, and has a dual button flap closure. The cargo pocket on the left leg is significantly smaller, and has a single Velcro closure. A coworker pointed out that the square design of the left leg cargo pocket perfectly fit a pack of cigarettes. We tried the idea out and yes, it perfectly fits a pack of 100 sized cigarettes in the pocket and perfectly closes with Velcro.VALUE - GOOD value for the money so far. These pants look like they will last a while, and they were 1/2 the cost of many other pants on the market. They are pretty stain resistant, and are easily cleaned with a damp rag. I would certainly buy these pants again.

Love these slacks
This is my second pair of these slacks. I got them because they looked like they might be comfortable, and they definitely are. I prefer loose slacks because I am fairly active and I definitely prefer an elastic waist, but so many slacks that fit my hips are really loose at the waist. These fit me perfectly because the elastic really does do its job. In addition, they have wonderful pockets: the right pocket holds my cell phone and wallet perfectly, so I can get by without a purse. I love all the pockets. In addition, the fabric seems to shed dirt so they always look clean. I've washed them several times and they don't shrink, and they look like new when they come out of the dryer.Yes, I know. These slacks are for chefs and I'm not a chef. But they are comfortable, have great pockets, look nice, and are my favorite slacks.

Good if your butt is flat
Not sure how else to put it. Fabric isn't super breathable, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff for how easy it is to wipe spills off, the amount of pockets is nice, the loose fit everywhere else is good, but would not recommend if your butt is anything but flat for any reason, which is not ideal for a job where you will probably be squatting to clean and pick up heavier objects often. I tried sewing it back together when it split the first time and it split again as soon as I needed to squat down to pick up a heavy tray.

Avoid these
These pants are awful. When I first opened them, I wasn't a fan of the loud swishy fabric, but I figured I would still try them out because they maybe they're really comfy right? So the next day I wore them for a grand total of 4 hours when I knelt down (standard one knee down sort of motion) to pick something up and the ENTIRE seam along the front ripped wide open. There was no fabric damage, the pants didn't tear, just the entire stitching was shredded instantly.I don't think I need to explain any further why that's unacceptable craftsmanship, if they can't handle 4 hours of light duty use before being completely unusable then they weren't put together well in the first place. Absolutely buy other pants, these are total garbage (and they sound like garbage bags too!)
