Perfect for a senior living alone!
We got this for my grandfather who's in his 90s. He's stubborn and won't accept his kids taking care of him but accepted wearing this button as a compromise after he fell and couldn't get up for hours. It requires a land line to function, which is its biggest drawback. It's nice that it calls up to 3 different family members l, moving on to the next one if the current one doesn't pick up. Another annoyance is that he can only talk through it if he's near the phone, which is in the kitchen, meaning many times he pushes it and noone knows how serious it is. He pushes it when he gets lonely or scared sometimes. Things that could be handled by talking him down now require someone to drive over to him. But it's well worth the peace of mind that he's able to get help when he needs it.

so far, so good. great range of signal
My father lives in an adjacent house maybe 150 yards away. Set up the base unit in his house, and one of the receivers in mine. We test them monthly. no failures yet.Actually impressed with the range.

Batteries are very difficult to install
I had to buy a second unit after a year because when the batteries die, it no longer makes a sound at the base. It still connects to the phone. I tried to reinstall new batteries but it was impossible to get them out without bending the coils. Poor battery design.

This tragically doesn’t work
I cannot return because it’s past the return window. We practiced this when my mom first got the bracelet and it worked. Today she pushed the button and nothing. My mom layed on the floor for four hours before we found her. I wasted a couple of hundred dollars and she suffered. Also, this review has been up now for a couple of weeks and the parent company has never reached out to me. It seems obvious they do not actually care about the customer or reliability of this product.

Surprisingly rugged, won't do without it
My husband wears the wrist unit all the time, even during showers. They last for a couple of years, so cheaper than similar monthly services. It's come in handy many times, as my husband is a fall risk due to Parkinson's.It's actually a phone without a receiver, so pushing the button tells the base unit to call your desired programmed numbers and give a short recorded message. You can program in up to three numbers. Our unit calls my cellphone. If I'm in the kitchen without my phone when he presses the button, I can still hear the distinctive beeping as it dials out, and respond accordingly.I recommend this.

I whole heartedly recommend this system
I whole heartedly recommend this system. I've tried other systems and they did not have the range or volume needed. This sends a message to my smart phone and it rings me anywhere and continues to dial my phone until I respond and re-set the message. It is great to not be locked in to some contract or payment plan. I own it and as long as my phone works I get a response when needed. One drawback is that your phone must be charged. Since I usually keep it charged that is not a problem. This system is money well spent!!!!!

Does the job
Set up for 87 yo friend who we worried about being alone. Calls her 2 sons then 911.if they don't amswer. 1) If 911 is called you need to manually turn the machine on and off to stop the alarm. 2) can't answer the call easily and twice it has gone through the 2 sons and gotten to 911 because of this issue. You need to answer and then push any number. That means from a cell phone you need to pull up the key board. By the time they get that far it has already moved on to the next person. At least it does call 911. The best part is no monthly fees.
