Surprising High Quality Balls at a Great Price! My dog wants to kill them.
I ordered these wool dryer balls for myself as well as a different brand that came in a cute printed bag to give as a gift to my mom. I was worried that these wool balls, being cheaper than the cute pack, wouldn't be as nice. I shouldn't have feared - I ended up with the nicer set! When I compared these balls (which arrive without fanfare in a clear cellophane bag) to the ones in the pretty pouch, I saw that they were nearly identical to each other even though these had cost less. However, these balls were just a smidgen bigger. There was nothing cheap about this set at all. They are quite large, have a good heft to them and have done great in my dryer. I also appreciated that the example image showed the exact accurate creamy-white color of the wool, which was the color of both sets of balls.I will warn you though, as I opened the package and examined the balls, my yellow lab mix (who most loves to chew fabric toys, not bones) got HUGE eyes and stared at these as if he already knew how incredibly awesome they would be to chew on. I'm not sure how these get "worn out" but when they do, he can finally have a go at one. Until then, all six of them are in constant danger of losing their lives if they stowaway in an article of clothing and escape the dryer. He now stalks all my laundry activity in the hopes I'm less than vigilant about my little flock of dryer balls. When the sly wolf eventually succeeds, I'll be back for another one of these sets!

Great product for skin allergies.
My husband has skin allergies to perfumes and chemicals added to any products including dryer sheets and clothes softeners, so we had to stop using them. I was looking for an healthy alternative to use to remove static from my sheets and blankets. I was extremely happy with these! I no longer get shocked when I take out the sheets and blankets from the dryer. Plus they are a great money saver since they can be reused.2/8/16Now that I have used them for over 10 times, I have found they do nothing to eliminate static. I tried washing them as it indicates and it did nothing to help it out.

Cut our drying time by 25-30%
I wanted to wait until I had used these for a while before writing a review. First off, they have cut my drying time by 25-30%. The first few times I used them, I thought something was wrong with my dryer because the cycle ended so soon. We have a front loader dryer which is already very energy efficient, but wow, the difference is noticeable. The balls are a nice size and I don't find them any noisier than the old plastic dryer balls we had (that might be because we have a separate laundry room so we can close the door and shut out all noise). They did smell like goats out of the package but after using them in the first load, the smell was almost completely gone and it never transferred to my laundry. You have to actually hold them up against your nose now to smell the goat smell. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because they didn't have any effect on softening my clothes, which I think wool dryer balls are supposed to be good for. I saw no effect. The balls also did not hold the scent of the essential oils that I added to them (but they oils may not have been strong enough). Overall, I am really pleased by how my drying time has been shortened, which the plastic balls never did.

Strong chemical smell.. don't really work
When I first received these dryer balls they had a VERY strong chemical smell. I had to wash them alone in hot water 8-9 times before the smell started to go away. They still smell even after washing so many times but not as much. Then my washer has the chemical smell, I had to use a washing machine cleaner to get rid of it. They don't seem to make a difference in the dryer, clothes still have static and don't dry any faster. They are also very loud in the dryer- it sounds like I'm drying tennis shoes.

Do a great job
I have had these for about a month. So far, I do love them. No more dryer sheets that leave that awful film on the lint tray that causes your dryer to take more time. I have not had any static and my towels do seem to be fluffier. I can't tell a difference in the drying time, but really have not timed them before or after using them. When drying a large load of towels and sheets, I do use all 6. They are not really all that noisy. I did have one of those plastic balls and these 6 are quieter than that one plastic ball and do a better job. I will try to update when I have used them for a longer time.

Yes, these really do work great and no they never smell bad. Save money and time, buy these.
I have been using these for several months now, and have a few tips I want to share to those that have never used these before. I use all six in each load, and only put 1 dropper full of lavender every 4 loads or so. Anymore than that, and my husband said he smelled like one of those old ladies that wears the whole bottle of perfume ;) The only time that I have gotten clothes out of the dry with a lot of static is when I over dry them. It takes awhile getting used to how much less time it takes to dry your clothes. I wash them about once a month with the hottest water the machine will use, and then dry by themselves until completely dry.

Don't get the hype
Didn't find that using these dried my clothing any faster or totally eliminated the need for a dryer softener. Also don't let your dog get a hold of one they shred easily and could be a choking hazard.
