What is the country of origin for this rice?

My container doesn't say. It is USDA approved organic but I don't know if that means grown here. I have been buying it for years after I saw a story about how it is a hybrid developed to compete with India's basmati rice and grown here. Why does this product description STILL say Gluten free, despite multiple people pointing out the error? (That’s a false, dangerous claim to make.)

While "gluten free" is not an issue for me, I don't see anything on the label that indicates gluten free. In fact the ingredients list specifically shows wheat.
