Big and beautiful
I lived 45 years in Hawaii and visited an authentic geisha house as a company gift along with our spouses, and I went to many local and high class Japanese restaurants there and in every one the green or matcha tea was served in “small” white cups mass made with mostly blue exterior designs. These tea cups hold 2 3/4 cups if filled to the rim, which you will not do. My tea cans for making 3/4 cups which is usual. If my cup is warm and the tea the proper temperature even this about 1/3 bowl full holds it’s heat well. The craftsmanship is lovely, the design a knock out but the tea is prettier viewed from the lighter tan areas. I can really whip up a foam in the big base which I can’t do in littler cups. Without a pouring spout I would not try to transfer the tea from this cup to a smaller cup, it would be to easy to spill. You could easily double the recipe for two cups, or serve noodle soup or steamed rice in it. I noted in one place the add says dishwasher safe, after I used the dishwasher I reread the add and lower down it says NOT to use a dishwasher and why - a bit disappointing. I hope they correct it and if not that they replace damaged cups due to miss information. I wish they were smaller, but they are so pretty I would buy them again, I got four!

Gorgeous glazing and perfect texture for whisking matcha. Are there any w/ spouts?
It is a joy to make my matcha in this beautiful bowl. Everything about matcha ceremony is intention, so the attention to detail in craftsmanship in pottery makes drinking matcha that much more special. I own some other bowls that have a small spout for ease of pouring your matcha and wish this bowl had one as well, but maybe the bowl was intended to be multi-functional for holding soup or rice. They have other beautiful designs and are fairly priced.

Good chawan to have
This matcha bowl serves its purposes for whisking the matcha tea providing enough space for whisking. It looks good as well.

Perfect incense bowl
I use this as a bowl to catch ashes on short stick incense. I put the incense in the little, square, ceramic holder at the bottom of the bowl. All of the ash falls into the bowl leaving no mess on my desk and also eliminating any risk of fire.I should also mention that this bowl just looks awesome. The quality is very good. Every bowl has its own unique pattern.

Must Buy, so cute
This ball is so gorgeous, and I think it's worth the money if you think it's pretty just buy it.It's easy to clean and when it comes to whisking Matcha, it's so easy to use. it's nice and wide so that you're not hitting the sides all the time it creates a nice frothy Matcha, of course you have to ask for quite a bit to have the the froth. It's sturdy so it has a really good quality and it's not heavy, but you can feel that it has a nice weight to it which I like.
