Perception Kayaks Rod-X Pro Fishing Rod Holder

Other people have posted these fishing rod holders do not fit tight. I bought two of these black holders for my Perception Hook 10.5 fishing kayak and they sure fit tight for me. Ignoring some of the reviews and buying these was a good decision ... for me.

Great product

Bought this products as a way to correct the very shallow molded in rod holders on my Perception kayak. Although they were rather expensive compared to other rod holders, I figured that since they were a Perception product the fit would be perfect. Far from it. Very difficult to get into the molded openings and they holders do not go far enough in to be stable. I wound up cutting them town and installing on my kayak crate. There are much better and cheaper solutions than that. That said, the product is well made, tough and durable and accommodates the rods reasonably well they way that I installed them. Good looking product but not worth the price. I have to wonder why Perception just doesn't correct the underlying problem and make the molded-in holders deeper and more secure. There are lots of negative reviews online about their on-board holders. Fix the problem! Seems like an easy fix to me.

These rod holders work great and keep the rods from swinging around while I Paddle

While these are better than the built in rod holders, they are a bit small to fit. Don't stay in very well. Perception should have thought these & the OE's a little more.

I bought this for my dads Perception Kayak as the stock rod holders are a bit too big to properly hold the poles. This thing is just akward, it goes way too high, doesn't stay in well, and was just an all around waste of money. I do not recommend wasting your time and money on this option.

Fits right in and hold rod. Could use a few more!!

Fits well in my Perception Pilot and matches the kayak color perfectly. The fit is snug.
