Excellent read
I really enjoyed this book, quite unusual to any other thriller I’ve read. I liked the plot. Maybe there could have been a POV from the dad or more involvement with him towards the end. I couldn’t put it down. Probably my favourite read this year.

Gripping pageturner
Mackenzie is a college student and is a talented writer. Like mother, like daughter. Her mother, writing under the pen name E. V. Renge – an anagram of “revenge” – is a famous author of physiological thriller novels. When Mackenzie’s mother dies, the police view it as suspicious and open an investigation. Even worse, Mackenzie can not feel any grief for the woman who raised her. They have never had a good relationship. After the funeral Mackenzie receives a letter written in a diary form by her mom, it's hand delivered and she never sees who sent it, just in an envelope marked "number one fan" As more diary entertainment are delivered it shows her mom in a more caring sight that Mackenzie didn't see when she was alive. They also reveal a dark secret to her mom's past and as Mackenzie delves deeper to reveal her past it put her in great danger. This is a fabulous physiological thriller which had an original story. The book is written in 3 parts and although it's a slow burner the twists and turns are plenty. I did guess one of the twists before the reveal but not all. It was a well structured book that the reader found out the secrets at the same time as Mackenzie which made the book feel more real. The book is very suspenseful and with the plot twists it's a perfect read for people fans of psychological thrillers.

Love, Mom.
Really like this book.Great plot, from the start right to and including the end, and, with believable characters in it too. Each character was given their own personality, their own separate ways of speaking so they came alive as real people, eg, not feeling like the same person was writing each one.I would recommend this book. It made me interested, keen to see what happened next and I enjoyed the ending, which I can't always say about some books. Some endings are weak, corny or go off at a tangeant, disappointing, but not this one.Interested to read any other books now too that Iliana Xander may have written.

opportunist identity theft
A solid story but nothing more than average. A daughter searching for the truth about her mother after she unexpectedly dies. With the big reveal about half way through the book the second half is more about why/how than a thriller. Some minor twists often predictable as the book meanders to its abrupt conclusionPersonally I didn't warm to the principal characters and her mother's " medical accident" during childbirth stretched credibility

A good psychological thriller
A good read with some good twists and turns with some good characters and a steady pace throughout the story. Tied up nicely at the end!

Really enjoyed it
This is a very good read, a couple of unexpected twists. Also a few twists I was expecting didn't happen. Which was a positive. Maybe the ending was a little abrupt. Hence four stars.

Twisty and dark
Part 1 was a bit slow and I thought I'd figured the twist out, then part 2 kicked in and wow had I got it all wrong! The main twist came out of nowhere and from that point on I didn't know what to think or who to trust in this book!!The dark characters are complex and classic villans, while the hero's have you routing for on them every page.A dark and delicious page turner of a thriller, definitely recommend!!!
