VERY IMPORTANT! PLEASE CHECK THE COMPATIBILITY LIST BELOW ZØRE-Xis a caliber-specific, electro-mechanical lock that attaches to a semi-automatic firearm, preventing unauthorized use, while ensuring immediate usability by the owner when needed. ZØRE X is the fastest way to go from a locked firearm to disengaging, chambering a round and firing. RAPIDIAL ZORE X’s revolutionary combination dial is designed to allow quick unlocking under any circumstances, even in zero visibility. The dial counts the clicks, and quickly recognizes the correct sequence. You don’t need to start from a specific point and even the direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) that you begin to turn the dial doesn’t matter. These two factors allow you to unlock your weapon without looking at it. You can choose a up to 20 digits, with up to 9 clicks each digit. You can roll past the last digit and the lock will still recognize the correct combination and immediately unlock. You won’t realize how fast it is until you try it yourself. LOCKING MECHANISM When locked – ZORE-X’s patent pending cartridge sits in the chamber, without applying any pressure to the gun. Any attempt to charge the gun causes the cartridge to radially expand with 10x the force being applied to it. It prevents motion and immediately locks the gun. FANTASTIC RECOVERY from EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT
I was so excited when I saw this product and order one immediately. It arrived today. The battery power works inconsistently, sometimes it is on sometimes not. Clearly a connection problem internally because it connect when you screw and unscrew the battery cap. The programming did not work, the lights did not light up as described in the video (YES I WATCH THE VIDEO AND READ THE MANUAL...SEVERAL TIME AFTER EACH FAILURE) Once I got the device unlocked it fails to re-lock (no matter how hard you push the button.. When I went to their web site to get support there is no person to call and when I put in the serial number of the device (which is required to communicate with them) the site tells me the serial number is not in the system so I cannot even communicate with the company online. The up side is the device is packaged very nicely !!! I am so disappointed because the concept of this lock is brilliant!!! I really wanted to be very satisfied customer and buy several more because I keep loaded firearms on all four levels on my home. Sadly this very innovative product is dead on arrival due to poor execution at near every level other than packaging and the quality of the materials used to build the lock. As for the rest...I cannot trust my life to a product that failed in every other way that matters. The item I received is labeled as version 1.0 perhaps when they get to version 3.0 I will try again if they are still in business. Very sad to have to make these comments but they are sadly my real experience. Hopefully they will excel at the return and refund process, I am sure they are getting plenty of practice.UPDATE: The Company reached out and asked for an opportunity to prove their product worked and because I wanted it to work I agreed. I have had the replacement product for 10 day and have successfully locked, unlocked and ejected to device from of weapon more than 100 times with ZERO failures. I have the total time to unlock and have a round chambered down to less than 8 seconds...with my eyes closed. My only issue with the device at this point it that a great deal of force is required to eject the lock from the chamber and everyone may not have the hand strength to make that happen especially under stress. My complements to the Company for an admirable recovery at least with this customer.

I would recommend and I look forward to the additions to the ...
Let me address a few things that other reviewers have wrote.1. First and foremost, the product works and works very well. Using it in my Shield now.2. Set up is easier if you go to Zore's website or find their YouTube video explaining set up. You could figure it out without but I would advise against it.3. I do feel very secure with this unit on my gun especially given the alternatives. There are of course trade offs in everything in life, but if you take care of your stuff you will not have an issue. Monitor battery usage once a year, no big deal, the alternative of fumbling for a key or combination in the dark is much more of a risk than having to worry about using an electronic mechanism. This device feels and looks substantial and not cheaply made, I feel confident that it will work when called upon, more confident than I do with the current system I have in place. To summarize, yes it works, yes it might take a little practice, but once you figure it out you have the only secure way to keep your gun on your nightstand with the magazine in the magwell and ready to go in an instant. I would recommend and I look forward to the additions to the system and the line that Zore will be offering in the future.

Updated...get one of these!
I stumbled across an ad for this device on YouTube while researching a way to secure my pistol in my car without installing some kind of lockbox. After looking at several items that would have meant modifying the inside of my car or the glovebox, I decided to order this item even though I don’t often carry my 9mm Glock 26 Gen 4 (maybe this device will change that). Supposedly different calibers are coming soon.As others have noted, it’s well boxed (reminds me of unpacking an iPhone) and the device itself feels extremely well made and sturdy, no slop or give. After reading the instructions and setting my code up, I slipped it into my unloaded pistol. The instructions say that the slide should lock all the way forward but it doesn’t on a subcompact (confirmed after looking at several videos). So I loaded a magazine with a couple of snap caps and locked it with this device. As noted in their videos, it’s fairly intuitive to unlock and you don’t have to look at the device to get the code, and it doesn’t matter which way you turn the dial to start it, which is all pretty awesome for the normal loss of fine motor skills when you get an adrenaline dump and have to think about a code to unlock your pistol. But you have to have both hands free, and most people are right handed, so you’d be holding the pistol in your left, turning with your right and then gripping your pistol in your right hand. The device does indeed fly right out after you unlock it and charge the pistol (the device doesn’t stovepipe or get stuck on the extractor for my pistol at least). I tried installing, locking, unlocking and then charging several times. Very impressive how well it works. I also decided to put my pistol in a vice and see if I could forcibly rack the slide with the lock enabled. I got worried about damaging the pistol with the force I was using, but short of smacking the slide with a hammer (which I thought about but did not try) I couldn’t get the slide to budge with the lock enabled. The drawback? All that handy lockability and wonderful usability comes from a circuit board. It’s not mechanical at all, and you’re relying on a CR2 battery to make sure you can unlock your pistol when you need it most. If your battery is dead, so are you because you can’t unlock it with a dead battery. Thankfully they build in a way to check the battery and encourage you to test the battery regularly. But that’s a pretty glaring issue. Not sure how you’d solve that unless it was rechargeable in some way or had a mechanical unlock....but those are compromises that drive up costs and make it less reliable I’m sure. I’d pay for a rechargeable device and would love some kind of app that alerts me when someone is handling the device or attempting to unlock it...but this device doesn’t do that so I have to rate it on what it does do.But unlike the guy who gave this device a one star review because it would be useless in the case of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack (and he didn’t even buy and try this device after deciding an EMP scenario was a realistic drawback), I don’t really think it’s complexity is THAT big of a drawback. For household use I would imagine it would be fine in a stable environment with low humidity and stable temperatures. For me, I want to use this in my car, so it’s going to be exposed to high temperatures, high humidity and possibly moisture. I’m concerned. So for now I’m going to lock it up and put it in my glove box and see how it does, but I’m going to carry a different pistol in the meantime. I really want this to be the answer I’m looking for to secure my pistol in the car.UPDATE: I’ve had this in my car for a while and it’s proven to be tough and reliable. It sat long enough that I honestly couldn’t remember the digits of my code, but just by a little fumbling muscle memory kicked in and I got it. It’s been in a car parked on asphalt at 100 degrees (probably 120 or higher inside the car) and works just fine. Very impressed with how well this device works and anxiously await different calibers for the other pistols I carry and sometimes have to leave behind because of rules or laws unfriendly to law abiding citizens carrying. At least with this device it’s safe if my loved ones get a hold of it, and I’m guessing it will at least be a giant PITA to take off if someone steals a pistol with it locked on.

Won’t unlock
I bought this product last week and I still can’t get this thing to unlock. I have put in the master code over twenty times and it still will not do the initial unlock. I have checked battery status and replaced battery but still nothing. I like the concept but I must have gotten a bad one. I have contacted zore and tried their recommendations but to no avail still nothing.
