Good day to day knife, comes sharpened, compact with good closing mechanism
These are great little knives, with a sharp blade. These are great for day to day use - I would not use them for heavy duty use - like whittling, or daily rope cutting, but to open a box or two and cutting rope every now and then. The blade comes nice and sharp, I bought a few, some came with a knife top some did not, all are in that awful plastic form packaging, which they would be good to use to open, but do be careful, when you cut the packaging to get into it - the edges of the cut packaging are always sharp - daft I know to highlight this when you are buying a knife, but just in case this is your first time opening this sort of packaging I thought I would mention it.The blade is stainless steel - the whole item is powdercoated in black.I am not sure how long the blade will hold the edge - it should be easy to sharpen using whetstones as the grade of metal is not high grade so sharpening should be easy - it just will not hold the sharp edge for a very long time like the higher grade steel does - but I have high grade steel knives which I carefully look after, these are just for bits and pieces , where you are looking for a pair of scissors and never find them, when you just want to cut off that tie or bit of packaging, or to take on the occasional camping trip these are ideal. The price is very good for these blades. As I said, they are not heavy duty, but even so, they are quite solid in the hand, the mechanism closes and locks well, no loose hinges so no risk of collapse or accidental opening which you will find on very cheap folding blades. The blade itself is a good thickness, and certainly sturdy enough for what I have in mind. You cannot chop firewood with these, you cannot use these for cutting leather -the force needed would be too much for the mechanism, but they don't advertise the blade for that.carabiner - you could not attach a carabiner directly to the blade I think, but you could use a bit of paracord through the end and attach it to a carabiner that way.to close the knife - it is a simple lever mechanism a lot of people will be familiar with but just in case you are not sure - ( the knife comes opened) - hold the knife by the handle - ensure the sharp side of the blade is facing up towards you - look at the handle part in hour hand and you will see that just under the exposed blade, at the top of the handle, there is a diagonal pice of metal. Carefully take the blade in your hand and use your other hand to push the top of the diagonal piece of metal to the left - to make it inline with the handle so that it is not diagonal anymore, and carefully fold the blade down into the hole you have just made by moving that piece of metal out of the way. you need to push that diagonal piece of metal firmly. Please do ensure you keep the blade sharp - there are a multitude of videos on how to do so from whetstones to the bottom of your best china, but a sharp knife is a safe knife.Keep it sharp, keep it clean, keep it dry and A little mineral (which you cam buy online cheaply or even get it at your local pharmacy) on it a couple of times a year and it should last a long time.I think ithey are worth the price, just be sure what you need it for and buy the appropriate knife for the job.

May need to be sharpened every once in a while.
Handy utility knife, nice compact design, that locks into place and also folds away safely. Took me a few attempts at first to fold away but once you know it’s easy. The blade didn’t stay sharp after some heavy usage but sharpened up ok. Fits in your pocket comfortably.

Indispensable and hard to overrate (IMPORTANT! look up an update posted below review)
Voluntary review of a product that I purchased and paid for.Date of purchase: 24 Jul 2021Price paid: £10.71Wolfcraft Leisure Knife with Folding Blade 4289000 - Delivered as promised in a safe and professional manner, on time and with security procedure (age confirmation).Packaging (both seller’s and manufacturer’s) left no doubt that product was not used before or tampered with. All as it supposed to be.As a rule I don’t buy things just to have them. It must be functional and serve specific purpose. In my case to help with stubborn cargo straps, plastic bands and wrapping, multi layered cardboard boxes, etc. And that’s not even the top 5 on my list.Every day I’m facing the situation when some of the above mentioned (or similar) happens. Most of my work mates goes straight to default question:“Why do you need an extra blade when you have your multitool?”On occasion I repeat with my own question: “Ever tried to cut a knot on a 5 tones cargo strap with a multitool blade?” Seems laborious just to think about it.Even worse when being alone hundreds of miles from company depot and customer’s receiving dock have only flimsy safety knife to offer. So yes, among other tools, I need it for work purposes. And it’s an excellent sidekick.Knife, straight out of packaging, comes very well made and sharpened so be mindful when open the blade first time. Locking mechanism for the blade is firm and causes no troubles when I need to open or close it.Clip holds it very well on a belt or in a pocket. If you looking to put an extra clip or a lanyard then plan carefully ahead. Knife’s hilt is drilled trough by design to reduce weight but offers only two decent spots to attach clip or a lanyard without risk of a damage to them or to the blade.High quality coating is good although if knife is being used on a daily basis it will start to show wear and tear.Summary: Great tool for work, leisure (camping) and hobbies (fishing). Thoroughly tested and worth the price paid.20 February 2022 UPDATE.Due to locking mechanism knife is illegal to carry in the United Kingdom.Blade length below 3 inches is irrelevant in this matter.I won't change rating due to personal (customer/user) satisfaction with knife's design and all before stated perks. It is simply great.Shame though I won't be able to use it for work/leisure purpose any more. Here's a challenge for Wolcraft: forget locking mechanism and make something with good blade tension.Waiting for you replay...

Good blade but annoying knife
The blade is good, but the knife body is held together with screws that can come loose, and the skeleton aspect seems to make it easy to jam.I find I'm often having to tighten the screws or dig something out of the holes.I would buy this make again but probably with a better body.
