Meets High Expectations
It works well, and provides a pretty good connection to both the local commercial as well as NOAA radio stations. It works well in both clear skies and indoors during a Florida thunderstorm. The hand crank seems sturdy, and the solar panel has removed any concerns about stationary battery life. The set up is incredibly straightforward and easy- pull it out of the box, and gently pull the antenna by the tip out from its retracted position and you're good to go. Adding the AAA batteries to the secondary battery compartment was incredibly easy as well- no screwdriver needed. The audio is clear, and it provides a good range of volume. The charging ports are simple and effective. All-in-all, a very good find, and well priced.

Flip lamp wouldn’t turn off and drained the battery
Worked good for about a year and a half, then the flip lamp on top wouldn’t shut off no matter how much you pressed it closed. There was no on or off switch for that light, just that if it was flipped open then it was on and the sensors wouldn’t pick up that it was closed so it drained the battery and the light got very hot because it was constantly on. Couldn’t use it because it would drain the batteries quick and the when you charged it it would drain quick.

Nice weather/emergency radio
Great little weather radio at it's price point, presently $30 (w/ 25% discount). It is compact and seems well enough built. It is very easy to operate with the simple dial knobs for volume and tuning. This radio has better reception than the other portable radio I have of another brand, which I appreciate as I live in a more remote area along the coast. If you are looking for an affordable radio to use during a power outage to keep in touch with pending weather, or you could easily carry to the beach or pool, I would recommend you take a look at this one. It does not have shortwave band and being as small as it is don't expect boom box sound quality sound but it performs well for its size.

Works great and at a fair price
Bought this for the next emergency situation when we don't have power. I like that you can charge it by solar or crank it for power. Seems to pick up the local stations with no issues. The unit is built well and should hold up well over time.
