Thank you Grover... You got it right!
If you have a tuner with the words "Gibson Deluxe, Fender Deluxe, Kluson Deluxe " ect, you would think that you have a pretty good tuner. Right? That's not always correct.I've always liked the look of the "Vintage Style" tuners, but in most cases, they have been my least favorite tuners to use.Other than them being lightweight they aren't perfection when it comes to tuning, it seems as though you always have one that the back falls off of. The reason being that the other big name companies use two small tabs that fold over to hold the backs on.Good luck with trying to fix it and even more luck to you in trying to buy just one replacement tuner. Here's where Grover should receive an award for being "GENIOUS"!Grover Vintage Style tuners are heavier, stronger, smooth as silk when tuning and they don't use those annoying little tabs to hold the backs on.How do they do it? They use three small riviots to assemble them and it works. You'd need a jackhammer to get the backs off of these. In a nutshell, they are stronger, smoother and better looking than any other brand of Vintage Style tuners that I have ever used.GREEN...GREEN...GREEN? No, they are not.I've read other reviews from people complaining about the Green-ish color. These people might not be old enough to know that plastics have changed a lot over the years. Since these are Vintage Style tuners, they are trying to replicate the plastic of yesteryear.Do some research on vintage guitars. Go to your favorite guitar store and look at vintage Les Paul's as well as brand new ones. I'm sure you'll agree that the color of the knobs on these tuners are just fine.No... They are NOT pearl white. Likewise, they are not Christmas Tree Green either.I personally don't care if they are Barbie Pink. They are fantastic tuners and they really don't deserve to get a lower rating, simply because someone doesn't like the color of the plastic knobs.Buy a set. You and your guitar will love them.

Work and look great
Great purchase for my 75yo Gibson LG1. I love the upgrade from my original (worn out) tuning machines. I also like that they are 'aged' looking, which matches the age of my guitar. Didn't fit my old mounting holes perfectly, but you can easily get them in with some patience.

There is no need to learn a lesson with tuners
I cant stress enough the value in buying good, true name brand tuners. I respect that people have a budget, but let me be your guide here - I have made the mistakes. When it comes to tuners, you just cant go wrong with the major players - in this case Kluson. These cost about $50 - there were plenty of similar options for less. The extra money was WELL WORTH IT, and when it comes to tuners and my experience, it always has been.I replaced a set of Epiphone Deluxe white button tuners on an Epiphone (Inspired by Gibson) Les Paul Junior P90 guitar with these. Not only were they a drop in fit, but I was also able to use the existing Epiphone Deluxe tuner parts; the screw mounting bushings and the small mounting screws on the back of the neck to mount the tuners. These tuners fit exactly in place - with absolutely no modification, no too-tight or too-loose fitting places as the tuners were placed in the existing mounting holes, and no crooked screw-ins based on any holes being off-center. They are a perfect fit. They look original to the guitar, they turn smoothly and hold tune as they should. This was a major upgrade both aesthetically and functionally to the guitar. Next time you are considering replacement tuners, do yourself a favor and spend just a little bit more to get brand name quality tuners.

Great Tuner!
I have an old Epiphone Les Paul Special that I've turned into a project beater. I sanded the thick gloss off body and neck with 1000 grit sandpaper. It now has a really cool satin finish neck and cool matte like dull finish to the body which is a tobacco burst so it works really well. Any way I had to get rid of those completely junk tuners that come on the specials. You can't find anything worth a crap that will match up with the holes that I have found. So I said I'm just going to put what I really want on here instead of something that will match the holes, which was an easy decision since nothing matched :). These are perfect. Great price, killer vintage look, excellent performance. They keep the guitar in tune great now. Some time ago I also replaced all the wiring and pots as well as the input jack. So now all that's left is the pick ups but the pick ups are actually ok in my opinion so no hurry there. These tuners though made all the difference in the world both mechanically as well as asthetically. Not only do they look awesome the work as well as any tuner I've had. So there you go. Go get yourself a beater and let the upgrades begin! Peace

Decent upgrade for the price
These tuners are nice for the price (not the worst and not the best) They are a good upgrade over some of the stock Cheapos out there.Tune retention is fairly good and fit my application very well.Weight is on the lighter side, but as mentioned functionality is decent.Installation was straightforward and I was pleased with top headstock collar actually being a male nut post that threads and tightens into the bottom of the tuner shaft and not just a tuning post collar.

May have to drill
will stay in tune and stable intonation, I installed them on my Epiphone Hummining Bird pro ,had to drill out hole to 25/64 with a step drill that I bought in Harbor Freight-it wasless than 10 dollars. Took my time and drilled a littel at a time to make sure it fit in tight, and used the old screws , the screws that came with the tuners were longer. It was all good.
