I prefer this version to the other Mier Sports versions and to other manufacturers' pants since it provided two important features to me: all zippered pockets (for security and durability, compared to Velcro) and zippered bottoms so I can remove them with shoes on. I bought 3 pair for a short term European missionary trip since a couple of team members used convertible pants to prevent theft, instead of passport holders, since passport holders were cumbersome. During the trip, I stopped using the passport holder and stowed everything in my pant pockets and had no problems. The pants were light and worked well. The zippers were easy to use and had L and R labels to aid in reattaching the pant legs.Being nylon, you may sweat in them while working or walking long distances in summer weather, which happened to me. When washing them, you cannot use fabric softener since it will clog the fabric, making it hotter, so you have to wash them separately. Occasionally, I had trouble unzipping one of the back pockets. Other than those minor issues, they're good pants and work well going from pants to shorts (and back) and providing better secured pockets. I would recommend them.I would encourage Mier Sports to make this version available in all sizes and colors (than just khaki and/or gray). I would encourage other manufacturers to not use Velcro as it loosens over time, making pants less secure.One caveat when ordering - order one waist size smaller. The two I ordered to my regular size I had to have taken in by a tailor. I bought another pair one size smaller and it fit perfectly.

My favorite pair of convertible pants finally wore out last year, so I was thrilled to see these Miersport pants on Amazon. The stretch woven fabric provides a nice blend of mobility with wind protection, yet still breathes well. It has enough toughness to stand up to rugged bushwhacks too. I recently used them on a 4 day backpack in the South San Juan Wilderness, and found them to be an ideal pant. The many zippered pockets are very useful, the stretch panels at the waist make them comfortable, and the belt (and buckle) functioned well. They are warm enough to be comfortable in colder temps, yet still breathable enough to wear on warmer summer days. The sizing seems a bit odd, but I followed the directions that Meirsport recommends, and they fit fine; I'm 6'0, and weigh 170 lbs., and the size small fits me well. The only problem that I have had is that the zipper on the lower leg separated at the top (on the first night of a 4 day backpack), but I was able to feed the zipper pull back on and have not had any problem since. A note to Meirsport: please insure that the lower leg zipper is stitched tightly closed at the top of the zipper to prevent this from happenening. Overall, a great pant!

These pants look like they would be perfectly fine except the sizing is wrong. First of all, they do not come in the standard waist/length sizes: you have a choice of small, medium or large. I am about as standard a medium as they come - 5'10, 160, 33/34 waist, 30 length - but the medium they sent was too long and too big in the waist. I will send them back and have not decided if I will risk a small or just go with another choice that gives the option of specific waist/lengths.

I bought these for a trip to Disneyland earlier this year. I wore them as long pants and they were perfect for the park! It was a rainy day and they are very water resistant. Eventually they will get soaked through in a downpour but they do a great job at repelling water. My favorite part is that all of the pockets have zippers! When you are camping, hiking, going to an amusement park, etc it is great to not have to worry about your wallet, phone, keys, falling out of your pocket or even worse, having your pocket picked! This summer I have been wearing them as shorts and they are just as good! I highly recommend these to anyone who wants some super comfortable pants for a trip or enjoys hiking/camping!

Only worn once to try them out. Purchased for a trip to South Africa in the Fall. I expect them to be exactly what I wanted. They were good for my limited trial run in Florida.

Useful and durable, however it will get and stay soaked after a torrential downpour. Better for a cool day (in pant version). Fit as expected but limited in sizing.

The only thing i didnt like about the pants is that its a little baggy and big for me

I wore the pants for 3 straight days during a camping trip and they were great. I am a big fan of zippers to keep pockets secure and these have all zippered pockets. The material is light and slightly stretchy. I really like them and hope they stand up for long term use.
