Only type of brace that realy works
If any customers have previously purchased the PUSH CMC thumb brace they will know that, although it is excellent, it is very expensive and the velcro wears out making the brace useless. This Orliman brace is cheaper. The brace fitting seems just as good and the velcro strap is more substantial. So far, I would definitely recommend it. A word of warning however. I have previously used the PUSH No.2 (medium size) but this Orliman medium was smaller and did not fit. However - excellent service from Orthotix - they replaced the medium with a large immediately without fuss.

Faulty design at present
It appears there is a design of built fault with this as presentCompany here were v helpful and replaced my first brace. The second had the same fault and they refunded me due to supplier/design issues.I am still looking for another company Who can supply a reliable one

comfortable compaired with others.
I've had many arthuritic thumb supports. This one is the best one I have had. Supports the thumb base great, and you have no resection on bending the top of the thumb. My thumb does not get in way now when i have a cup of tea.

Great product shame about the velcro
After 10 days of use for a tendon problem the velcro has become completely ineffective. I was hoping for something better for the price.

Could be improved
It’s ok but a bit flimsy for the price - time will tell!As a design, it’s ok but needs to have a longer plastic bit to cover scaphoid. This will limit abduction better. The bridge piece between the thumb and first digit could be about 1/4” wider preventing addiction just a bit more. It’s not bad but could be improved. Prob ok for those that don’t use their hands much. I used mine too much as a physio for 30 years and paid the price

Expensive item - hopefully does what it is designed to do.
I recently saw a hand consultant who recommended I purchase a thumb push splint. I bought this particular one because of the reviews. I have worn it a few times to give me some support & relief but it pinches in between the thumb and forefinger so I am thinking of putting some padding under it to make it more comfortable. I haven’t used it enough yet to say whether or not it really helps my hand/thumb problem but I will keep using it. I do have to be honest and say I can’t see how it costs as much as it does. In my experience, anything labelled ‘orthopaedic’ seems to add £££s to the product. I sincerely hope it is worth the money in the long term.
