Compared to the Surfans player I originally bought a few years back, these Hifi players are nearly identical but sound better to my ears, and the EQ works better. This is my second one. I use them one each in my two vehicles, each armed with its own hifi system including four channel amplifier and home build two way active speaker system utilizing an Audiocontrol active crossover, the player drives the crossover to amp via an 1/8" to dual RCA cable. The drivers were purchased from Madisound and are of exceptional quality for the price. I always build my own boxes. Very happy with these players, the internal battery lasts a long time and can be charged while playing at the same time. Amazon tried to sell me one for just over $100 with their prime plan, and without the plan the price was like $130. Don't be fooled, look and you will find one offered by another seller for @$100 without the Prime gimmick. I did buy the Sony player for over $200 recently, but it has Android software, takes a long time to boot, tons of unnecessary bells and whistles. This is just a player, turn it on and it begins playing music, exactly what it should do, and what I wanted.

I've been using this MP3 player for a few months now and overall, I'm quite happy with it — but it's not perfect.Pros:Strong, solid build – The unit feels durable and well-made, not flimsy or cheap.Excellent sound quality – When used with wired headphones and especially through a headphone amplifier, the audio is clean, detailed, and very enjoyable.Expandable memory – I appreciate that it comes with a 128GB SD card and supports even more via expansion.Cons:Battery life is on the short side – I find myself needing to recharge it more often than I’d like, especially during longer listening sessions.Volume is quite low out of the box – This isn’t a problem for me since I use a headphone amp, but it could be frustrating for others, particularly if you're using wireless earbuds or headphones.Bluetooth is hit-or-miss – It doesn’t connect reliably with all devices, and even when it does, sound quality noticeably drops over Bluetooth compared to wired playback.Bottom line: If you’re planning to use this with a headphone amp or wired high-quality headphones, it’s a great-sounding and compact player. Just be aware of its battery limitations and weak Bluetooth performance if you're looking for a fully wireless experience.

Excellent build with an intuitive menu -once you read the instructions .Playback is flawless and the DAC is super.Plays every type of music through wired earbuds without Eq and sounds fantastic.

Solid. All buttons and selector wheel are precise. Fit and function as advertised. Works well with Wired or BT. With wired sound is truly excellent. Battery life is also good.

Very *cute* device, and by all means it works. If you want something to throw music onto, plug into a car, and just have it act as a radio it works. It sounds good. But using it constantly is kind of a chore, and it lacks very basic features, including giving playlists custom names and being able to use the previous/next song buttons when the screen is off?? Would refund it if I could so I could afford something better.

Easy to transfer music from computer, but the unit has several shortcomings:-Apparently, when plugged in via USB-C, the unit ceases to function as an MP3 player - it will not be recognized as a USB device in a car. The cabling is for charging only.-When connected to Bluetooth in a car, the device will be seen and will play but you cannot access menus from the vehicle display. You have to use the display on the player which is dangerous while driving.-Software for sorting/playing music is sorely lacking.

I really wanted to love this little MP3 player, but at this point it is essentially useless.I bought this to listen to music as I tried to decentralize my phone time. I listen to a lot of music and loved the idea of having a dedicated player. Once it arrived I switched out the micro SD for a SanDisk 128gb just so I had something a bit more reliable. Unfortunately the audio port does not work as it only plays music on the left headphone. I confirmed this by testing my headphones on other devices. Additionally, the bluetooth function only connected successfully once and even then it would skip frequently. The instructions say this may have to do with the all metal body on the front portion of the player. This seems pretty silly given the entire point of this product is to listen to music. This also would not be a massive problem if the audio port worked for a wired connection, but alas that is also broken.I do not normally leave reviews for products but I am so disappointed in this and do not want others to make the same mistake in purchasing this as I did.

Great Battery life, sound quality great, pretty easy to trasnfer music. plenty space for music.
