Affordable Good Quality That's Easy To Use
My Trend Digital Depth Gauge is easy to use and it provides enough accuracy for the kind of wood work that I'm doing.I will be using it mostly to take measurements on the piano that I'm rebuilding. The specific measurements will be for the bridges and dowels that support the plate. The numbers in the display window are easy to read. Although it's made mostly of plastic, I'm confident that I can get the accurate results that I need. The parts fit together very well and the tool is functionally sound. I also intend to measure the depth of the maple dowels that are holding the pin block to the case. This tool will enable me to do that because there's a depth pin that's attached to one of the legs. This is going to help me a lot.

Sometimes it’s a necessary evil.
Make sure easier to make repeatable cuts with your router bits. I record all my measurements once I get a bit set up. Take all the measurements. Write them down in the notebook or mark them on a test piece which I keep in the drawer for future use.

Battery is dead
Packaging protected the product but the battery was deadUpdate The Depth Gauge didn’t even come with a battery if I would of known this a different gauge would of been selected

Not Accurate
Bought one and it was not accurate so I got a replacement that is also not accurate. The picture shows a piece of 3/4 oak stock and the measurement. As the caliper shows it is .75 and the depth gauge shows .844 and .846. The problem is from the very beginning that it starts measuring. A toothpick measures 3 times its height which means it is off for every measurement. Wish it worked but now I am sending 2 of them back.
