Fab-u-lous dye! 👍
Quick Backstory: M&S were recently selling a Utility Style Gillet, both in Black as well as White. Unfortunately, any stores I went to there was no black gilets in stock - only white - and unfortunately we cannot buy online due to a recent cyber attack on their website. Not wanting to go home empty-handed, I had a lightbulb moment, why not just dye a white one black? And that's what I did!I did my homework carefully on dyes, as well as the fabric composition of my gilet, and settled on Fabricoat black dye. And I'm glad I did!Compared to other dyes, with Fabricoat you literally just paint it on the fabric you want to dye. Just dampen your chosen fabric first, and paint away! I used a combination of a small paint roller and a narrow brush for the harder crevices on my gilet. So far so good! I've completed the outside of the gilet, and once that's dried in a couple of days, I'll be doing the same on the inside of it.I wasn't sure if a single bottle would suffice, but I'm confident I'll have enough left to do the inside once the gilet has dried.Super delighted with the outcome so far. Very pigmented and with a slight viscous about it which makes it easy to apply without running all over the place.Happy customer, would buy again.

Great for DIY project, car restoration
I used this fabric dye paint on my car seat belts they were originally cream but over time stained with dirt that wouldn't wash off so I dyed them to match the other parts of the interior brown and cream looks nice and smart now I also used abit in the cream leather steering wheel that was also stained with macanic greece oil and dirt wasn't sure it would work it's fabric dye bit still worked on my steering wheelIt's not watery runny dye it's like paint thick and easy to apply it says 2 hrs to dry but It was hot day so it dried fast small bottle but it done 5 seat belts and a steering wheel still tiny bit left in bottle case I need itSo if your doing a big project might need more then one bottle 5 starts off me doenst rib off on my clothing it's great dye paint

Ambitious - prob' better on a more straight forward sofa design
Good product, I had to add a lot of water (which isn't recommended) because it was a larger project than estimated. Also, there were various types of fabric on my sofa (it was patchwork). Diluting the paint got it to absorb in better.Due to this it dried patchy, but that was my fault. So it took a lot longer than expected to paint, plus required more paint than stated in the official bumf. I would like to do another coat but on an old, battered sofa like this, I can't see myself doing all that intensive labour again. I'd love a spray-can version of the paint for that.Happy I did it though, the sofa has had a new lease of life.

Yes yes yes just do it!!! You won't regret!
Okay, so going to level with you all. I used half as much as recommended as I'm cheap and wanted a quick fix for my manky ikea grey sofa that very early on looked faded and roughhhhh. So before investing in totally new covers (custom as they don't make our sofa anymore, so would be minimum £350) I decided to give this a bash. I used 3 parts paint to 1 part water dilution- they don't say to do this, like I said, I'm cheap. I washed the original covers and whilst they were still wet, over a series of 3 days, repeatedly painted being sure to concentrate on anything obviously visible and the piping edges. Yes it's a bit messy - I probably would advise gloves but hey, I'm an unorganized person so I did sport blue hands for a couple days afterwards.Overall pretty easy to use a d paint, make sure the fabric you're applying it to is wet as it does soak in and look more natural rather than just painted on top. I painted on a patchy dark grey sofa with the blue paint and the colour playoff is fabulous!! Would for sure recommend for any quick fixes or up cycles anyone is doing. I've tried on other furniture in the past with other brands and can honestly say this was the best I've used yet. Very effective and great coverage.Do it!! Just go for it!!

Too expensive to justify
Honest Review of Fabric Coat PaintIf you’re looking to revive a faded colour on a small item, this paint definitely does the job—especially with just one or two coats. However, if you’re planning to completely change the colour (e.g. dark grey to black), be prepared to apply at least 3–4 coats.I used nearly an entire bottle just to cover two seat pad cushions (each 60cm x 60cm), and that was after three coats. At this rate, to complete the full set of garden cushions, I’d need several more bottles—which starts to make the project costly and time-consuming. Add in the mess, and honestly, I’d be better off just buying new cushions. That said, for small touch-ups or colour refreshes, it does work well. Just manage your expectations and think about the size of your project before committing.

Disappointing
Pretty disappointed with the result. I had some orange seat backs that I wanted to make dark grey, so a purchased a 500ml bottle. That whole bottle is the result you see in the right hand of the picture (left is before any product was applied). Not impressed for the money.

Worked great
I needed to change the colour of wool felt , I tried everything else but the colour kept transferring. I bought this fabricoat and TBH I didn’t think it’d work , but it worked great , I had to do 2 coats and it dried within a few hours and looks much better .

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fabric Paint
The media could not be loaded. Bought a 500Ml bottle to refresh the interior fabric in my van. It was yellowed, worn and looked VERY dirty even though it was wet vacced within an inch of its life.Purchased this in black and couldn’t recommend more. It’s taken 1 coat for full coverage, applied with a XL flat art brush then stippled to make sure it got into all the little tiny holes in the fabric. It got on the plastics and I was concerned it wouldn’t wipe off, it did! Little bit of water on a microfibre cloth and it wiped straight off those unwanted areas. Will purchase again if needed in the future. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.
