I compared way too many products for a pill cutter & crusher/grinder tool before choosing this item by Pillsteer. The product proves to be solid, easy to use & has many useful features; it seems very well engineered. The cutter is clean & accurate. The cup and storage containers are useful, fit snugly & are well-designed to pack a lot of functionality into a compact tool. It does a good job crushing to fine particle sizes, even crushing the micro-beads found in some capsules. There is a small space at the rim around the bottom of the crushing chamber, which is not able to contact the crusher surface & some larger chunks can hide in this area. Tilting & rotating the device while crushing will help all the contents to disperse & crush more evenly.2 other remedies to reduce larger pieces:1 - You can take a household tool (flat screwdriver or round pen with a sturdy & flat end) & leaning the container to gather the contents in 1 area, roll or press a tool against the chunks to make finer particles.2 – You can empty the contents on a flat surface & use the flat bottom of the crusher surface to flatten any larger pieces.Overall, this seems like a quality & economical product that will outlast & outperform most comparable devices.

Overall, I have tried several pill crushers and despite the feedback, this is absolutely the best one by far. I feel so accommodated and happy that this makes taking medication much easier than before. If you have tried other pill crushers and just aren't satisfied, this has to be the one for you!Initial impressions:— easy to open packaging; love that it’s not enclosed in a hard to opener wasteful plastic case— aesthetically pleasing color scheme (not bland/boring colors) — this blue is gorgeous— easy to open and close all three sections— pill cutter section looks safe for use (not an unnecessarily huge blade or one that is easy to cut my fingers on when opening and closing)Positive impressions, after 2+ weeks of daily use:— pills cut easily; the middle part that holds the pill keeps the pill easily in place, especially if I want to cut into fourths— blade is far enough that I don’t worry about accidentally cutting or poking myself— storage holds a good amount of pills; love that it’s not too deep or too shallow so that the user does not overload it— all three sections open and close easily + stay secured overall— pill contents grind well and within a few twists; fairly easy to grip to twist with the smooth outer ridges— the order of the three sections is useful and safeFeedback/Suggestions:— the splitter top sometimes pops open ever so slightly when grinding medication; however, it is easy to snap back closed— does not grind coating of pills easily (this could be my medication as it they are typically taken whole and not crushed— powder sometimes gets stuck in the inner ridges and needs to be tapped or picked out to get the full dose— washing and drying the middle section makes it tough to get out every bit of powder on a daily basis due to the ridges / small spaces— I would love to see a small brush be provided to get the powder completely out, potentially a tool that has a brush on the “side” to get into the hard-to-reach side ridges on the inside of the crusher section— I would love to see additional colors as this business grows

This is a pill crusher, not a pill grinder. It is good for those who have difficulty swallowing larger pills/tablets. It will crush pills fine enough for mixing with apple sauce, pudding, yogurt, etc.,, but most pills do not crush to a fine powder. If you need a fine powder, use a pill grinder or a mortar and pestle.The grip on this crusher is good, but it does take some hand strength. If you have quite limited hand strength, use a grinder with a crank handle or a crusher with better leverage. The main difficulties with those are that they are larger, generally more expensive, may have more parts, and are not as good for traveling.The pill cutter on this crusher works very well, better than a dedicated cutter that I bought at a pharmacy.Room for improvement: The threads are on the inside of the cup, and pill bits tend to get caught in them.As for durability, I haven't had it long enough to tell. So far, it seems fine.

I purchased this pill crusher for my mother who's elderly ( 100 yrs old) . She has difficulty swallowing. This pill crusher crushes the pill very fine. Just about to a powder substance. . It chops it fine to be added to applesauce for her to easily consume.

this is a fantastic small device which effectively and efficiently splices and cuts both small to large pills, making it easier to swallow (if you are like myself who has trouble taking large capsules without needing to split them into two pieces.)I gave it four stars as i find cutting small pills to be ever so slight of an annoyance, small pills tend to like remaining in the middle which may lead to some sliding to the right or left, I think this only needs more stability to maintain the pill in place.Impressive, low price.

It takes a few times to grind the pills and you need strength to do it. Not all the pill grinds are easy to get out. Pill holder on the bottom doesn't stay closed very well but it does the job of cutting. You just need to really work at getting all the crushed pill out.
