I freakin love this thing!
My glasses and Beam were shipped separately and when the glasses arrived first, all I had to plug them into was my Windows PC. The Nebula software for Windows is absolutely terrible and all my hopes of using these glasses as an alternative to a monitor were dashed to pieces. I was about to send them back when the Beam arrived. The Beam made all the difference in the world. Don't bother with the glasses if you are not going to order a Beam. With the Beam I was able to wirelessly cast my screen to the glasses, eliminating the need for Nebula completely (only one monitor). I also side-loaded Aptoide, installed RetroArch, and now have 1,000 video games on the Beam that I play using a wireless 8-bit-do controller while lying in bed. Netflix and Amazon Prime also work great! These have been so fun for sleepless nights and traveling. I can connect my noise-canceling headphones, put on the glasses, and crank through all my favorite games for hours on a plane while I block out the rest of the world.

Fun tech toy
These have been great. Easy to set up, have worked exactly as advertised. I have old eyes, but with the focal point being out in space, can use without reading glasses. Plugged in to my nintendo switch and worked like a champ. Plugged into my company laptop and worked just like an other monitor. Having fun playing around with them and showing off to my engineer friends.

Beam is not the best interface. But useable.
I was on the fence about these types of products. I researched the heck out of them and decided on the XReal. Very happy with them and use them in many use cases. Drone FPV, Mirrorless Camera video and mostly for watching YouTube/video. As with all of these glasses, there is a sweet spot where the image is clear edge to edge. I do find myself searching for it often….but even when not completely angled correctly, it’s very nice. I do wish the glasses were just a bit bigger. I find that the angle I use is just on the cusp of having the frame at the top interfering with field of view. To me, these are all minor compared to the experience you get. I have worn them for hours at a time and find them very comfortable and not fatiguing on the eyes. The beam is a very stripped down Linux GUI not really designed for this type of device. More for phone/portrait orientation. The unit itself works fine and I have no real problem, but many apps don’t work correctly with the navigation buttons and require a Bluetooth accessory. Honesty, they just need to spend time and development efforts into the software. The hardware both glasses and Beam are quite nice. Software id give an 2.5 out of 5. Hardware 4.5 out of 5. Still worth it for me. I think non tech people might be frustrated by the Beam.

I really wanted to like this.
Most of my problems center around the Beam specifically, and I find the gripes I have around the glasses themselves to be a lot fewer and more forgivable, so I'll complain about the glasses first. The electrochromic dimming is a fluff feature. It works, but it doesn't work as well as the lens cap, and even the caps aren't fully opaque. That's fine; just don't buy the pro variant and save some money. The glasses have two independent microLED displays, which means they should actually be capable of stereoscopic output...but they aren't. I'm going to assume this is either due to a lack of complex optics to handle IPD variance and the like, rather than an attempt to upsell to something that does support stereoscopy. Also, the edges of the screen are consistently hard to see and as a result really not suited for text. Limitation of the tech, I'm going to assume. That's really it for the glasses, so I won't discourage anyone from considering the glasses by themselves for hooking up to a desktop or laptop. The Beam's a bit of a big deal for connecting to most other things, so... well it's a doozy. The Beam is the sort of device that practically overheats because it's too cold. The best advice I could give there is to use a phone chiller and just ignore how you're stuck compensating for clear manufacturing and hardware selection issues. I've seen enough devices play around in that sort of thermal range under normal operation (nearly too hot to hold at times) and suddenly require reflowing to even function again, and I'm not eager to find out if this is one of those devices. Either way, it's incredibly bad for this part alone. The Beam is required for connecting a Switch, and for adjusting how apparently large/distant the virtual display is. It also introduces a really awkward moire pattern and just all sorts of other visual flaws associated with moving a virtual display around so that it doesn't line up with the actual pixels in the displays in the glasses. This is not something you'll need to deal with at all if you can connect the glasses directly to something, though you also won't be able to redefine the display area. The Beam is required for Miracast and Google Cast. Those are actually pretty decent when the source is a phone, but lag-related issues hurt perceived quality, and the Beam heats up quite a lot while handling either form of display streaming. Btw, aside from some oddball phones, you'll probably need to keep your phone's display on constantly while streaming, which sorta defeats the purpose here. The latter is not a problem with the Beam, but I really can't recommend it for this use case unless you have a unicorn of a personal setup that just works here. The Beam seems incapable of charging while receiving a video signal over USB, but really the battery life isn't terrible here. 3-5 hours isn't anything to write home about, but it's about as long as I can stand to fiddle with this in one go anyway.Alright, I front-loaded the gripes, but I do still want to say at least something positive about the glasses: they're not perfect, but still fantastic in a lot of 3D games. I've caught myself trying to look around in Xenoblade, for instance, only to remember that I'm gonna need to pan the camera normally because it's not a VR situation on either end of the cable. But this isn't the virtual giant TV I was and you might be looking for, and I'm not even sure it exists yet. We may just be waiting another decade on stuff like this to be fully baked and ready.

Hard to get a good angle for full view and quite bulky/heavy.
XR not ready for prime time yet. Glasses need to be lighter and wider field of view.

Cool glasses!
These were very cool. They did what they were supposed to. They were a bit finicky for me, but I really dislike them. I did have to return them though because they were giving me a headache and making me dizzy so just remember they could be they could take some getting used to i on the other hand could not get used to them. I had to return them. He really was sad cause I actually did like them, but I could not be sick all the time that was just not gonna work for me. I would definitely recommend if you don’t get sick off of stuff like this.

Cool... In theory
These looked promising, but overall they were a letdown. They’ve got that cool tech feel at first, but after using them for a bit, the discomfort really kicks in. They're not fun to wear for long periods—uncomfortable on the face and eyes. The idea is interesting, but in practice it just feels like an overpriced gimmick. For the price, I was expecting something more polished and usable. Definitely not something I’d reach for often.

Everything you want
Awesome product, definitely recommend the glasses and the beam. Can turn anything with a display output to a huge screen. Built in audio quality is excellent as well. I used mine with a Samsung 23 ultra and has so many features. Highly recommend
