I am very pleased with these. The plates are essentially rubber. I have no idea how long they will last but I don’t care. I’d be happy to replace them on a periodic basis as they work well. Not sure what other material options there are. In terms of the security of the latch, doesn’t seem an issue with me. Maybe someone could force a door open. I have these on interior doors that don’t need to be super secure. Maybe it would be an issue in an exterior door. This said, I’d risk being murdered to quiet my families inability to close doors quietly at midnight!

Misleading photos show what looks like metal and silicone hybrid. This is only plastic/silicone and for that reason the door I installed it on wont even close against it because its too flimsy. Returning immediately, didn't work at all, on any of the doors I tried it on.

Works perfectly! Easy to install, took longer to find a screwdriver than it did to take off and replace old strike plate with the new one.

I was pleasantly surprised by how effective this is, and planning on ordering a few more for interior doors.Piece of cake to install, no modifications needed to door frame.No issues with door latching, and added bonus of keeping door from rattling when closed.

OMG! What a lifesaver! My bathroom door woke everyone up at night with the latching sound. I have a 50 Year old home and these were a little thick for the gap between door and frame, (I could probably still adjust the hinges a little bit ) so we now have to press quite firmly for the door to close completely. However! The bonus is that the grippy silicone actually holds the door in place (which used to swing open because I have an over-the-door hanger on the back with towels which used to swing open If not, pressed completely closed with that annoying loud clicking sound) because I have an over-the-door hanger on the back with towels- without having to push it all the way closed. If you felt like you needed to lock the bathroom door then pushing the door all the way (at least on my tight fitting door) might be a " problem" for you. But in my house when the bathroom door is closed, no one goes in, so the need to push it the last 1/3- 1/2" or lock it is unnecessary. Different door jamb widths (Read the description and instructions) could be important for you. But I am in LOVE with this thing!

These are not hot-swappable with most strike plates. You will, in fact, need to chisel/route out a deeper mortise on the door jamb to make these fit right. That requires purchasing tools and learning a skill. The title states "no modifications". Objectively false. You can't even close the door with a simple swap. Out of 5 doors I tried them on, only 1 of them SORT OF fit, and the irony is that since the strike won't latch, it makes the bathroom door less private than it should be. This product needs to be reevaluated. I'm disappointed that I now need to go run around town to get the product returned.

This is essentially a rubbery flexible strike plate replacement that slows the action of the latch. Most of the noise originates in the latch mechanism itself when the latch slides off the square edge of the plate when closing. Slow down th bolt and you eliminate 95% of the noise. This thing looks a bit floppy when installed and it fails the wife test.It kinda works but is not the holy grail.

Super easy to install. Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Noise decreased drastically, not completely silent but does improve my sleep quality. Will be buying more for the rest of my house.
