Acrylics for the Absolute Beginner (Absolute Beginner Art)

Even this is not for the 'absolute' beginner. I really struggle to paint but I'm already feeling much more confident. Still on the first exercise but each attempt is better. I'm starting to get a feel for the mixing, the brushes, how diluted to make it. Best I've found..

Inspired! Now all set to paint -definitely recommend for anyone new to painting.

Haven't read it all yet - so this is just first impressions. It covers a good spread of topics, and is well written with enough of a sense of humour, but without going overboard. I like it so far - can't say whether my abilities will be improved having read it - but I'm hopeful!

I bought this for my granddaughter, she says it is excellent and very easy to follow.

Great book for beginners. Bought for 11 year old and she found it simple to follow.

I found this to be a very good book,because it explains about materials brushes etc.and then how to start with simple paintings working up to more advanced paintings,there are also outlines you can trace onto paper or canvas to save time sketching.All in all a very good book.

When it says absolute beginner, it means it here. If you are a beginner/aspiring artist and you are more interested in painting acylics in the watercolour style, then maybe it’s useful for you. I was hoping for more painting in the oils style, and although I am a beginner in acrylics, I am not a beginner artist, so didn’t find it so good. There are some good basic tips for painting in figures and trees, so not entirely unhelpful.

Good book

O livro é interessante, embora o título o Iniciante Absoluto seja exagerado pois faltam, algumas vezes, instruções mais detalhadas. O entregador da Amazon não tocou a campainha e dobrou o pacote de plástico para colocá-lo na caixa de correio. Em nome da eficiência e da correria cometeu o sacrilégio de dobrar completamente um livro. Nota zero para a entrega!

I love this book and wish the other books by this author were available too. It does not treat the reader as a fool, and gives simple but valuable information.

My daughter hasn't yet started this, and as other reviewers said, not for absolute beginners. I loved that it includes step by step instructions and templates to use which I think is so helpful!

L'artista affronta la pittura acrilica con un approccio molto "acquerellistico".Preferendo uno stile più deciso, che tende più all'olio, con pennellate corpose e sfumature elaborate, sono rimasta un po' delusa.Ovviamente la mia è un'opinione dettata puramente dai gusti personali e pertanto non toglie assolutamente nulla al valore delle opere inserite nel libro e dell'artista.Detto questo avendo tanta strada da fare prima di arrivare al livello dell'autore, posso solo imparare dalle lezioni che presenta nel libro, a prescindere dalla stile utilizzato, e consiglio sicuramente l'acquisto perché è comunque importante avere nozioni, conoscenze e vedute più ampie possibili.All'interno sono presenti degli esercizi, disegni da rimuovere da poter dipingere.
