I bought several Wild Republc animals to adorn a rainforest area in my classroom, and for the children to sit with while reading. This orangutan fits the bill very nicely.The appearance is just as in the description (see photo): very shiny and fluffy.Mostly, the fur feels incredible soft, but there are little, annoying, hard bits here and there and these detract from the experience of stroking it. I found myself teasing these bits out by fingernails, and even using a pair of scissors to snip some. This is my main criticism.It seems well put together, not threatening to come apart at the seams, not malting, even when tugged firmly. I'm hopeful that it will survive being handled by many children.Overall has a nice weight to it, and sits upright without toppling when not being used.
