These remotes do not open my 2007 Expedition EL liftgate either. My original Ford FOB does open the Liftgate.

Yes cause they sent me the wrong one told Lincoln aviator it didn’t work so money was wasted and told it time getting to me still looking for the right one

I'm not sure of the why but I have found out that several different aftermarket key fobs for the expedition will not program the rear lift door. I ended up buying a Ford oem and it programmed perfectly...lesson learned
