Excellent Beer Book
This is my kind of book. The author uses relatively brief descriptive language about every beer mentioned, many times with a short story. For each style, there is a nice introduction to the style and its origin. Along with that, there are a few special callouts on topics. I think a learned beer geek has heard most of it before, but it's a nice refresher and fun read. Most importantly, there are so many unique beers to read about, most likely unavailable in your area. Contrast this with other "top beers" books or lists and most of it is predictable or repetitive. Not that the classics are skipped, but it's fun to see new things. (There were a lot more Italian and New Zealand beers than I was expecting... not sure if this is author bias or if we just don't get many good ones in the US. :-p)Either way, high recommended. The sooner you read it the better with a book like this as the landscape is changing at a fast pace. It's a great snapshot in time regardless.PS: You do have to live with the plural treatment of companies from the British author... but it grows on you. :)

Great Book!!
If you like beer, you need to get this book. If you like craft beer, you MUST own this book. Incredibly well written, with hundreds of different beers from around the world. The author clearly spent a lot of time making this book, as he has first hand descriptions of all the beers listed. It is an awesome guide.

Great Gift for the Beer Lover!
My husband loves trying new beers - especially local craft beers! When he opened this unexpected gift Christmas morning, our gift opening came to a halt so he could flip through the pages. I think this is a great gift for anyone in your life whom loves craft beer! And it's cute to display too!

I bought this book for my son and son in law. Both are beer snobs. They both said it's very informative.

Good book, not great.
This book has a lot of great reviews, but it's very much just a review of a bunch of beers from around the world. Far from a complete beer guide or anything of that sort. Does a good job touching on different styles and origins.

Good
Amazing book. Looks fantastic and well laid out. Good for anyone working in a bar or people who enjoy craft. I bought this as we now sell craft at work, it gives you a good intro to what it is before going into beer of the world

Very readable
Really enjoyable, modern approach to beer drinking. Nicely illustrated and informative from a guy who knows his stuff. Aside from the '350 beers' parts there are lots of sections on beer and brewing that are informative without being too involved or geeky. Loved it!
