Ideal for crumbly corks
Great gadget for crumbly corks. Easy to use ( worked first time ! ).Then I used it on a very tight new cork and it pushed the cork into the neck of the bottle. Fortunately I was able to retrieve the cork with a conventional corkscrew. So just use on crumbly corks and it’s ideal.

Great product.
Excellent build quality. Bought for a 20 year old bottle of Bordeaux I've only used it on newer wines for practice but it's actually easier than a corkscrew after just a couple of practice efforts. Very happy. Update: Finally got around to opening the Bordeaux and it removed the cork perfectly.

Ah-so Essential when opening old vintage wine bottles.
A must have wine cork remover when opening old vintages. When used in conjunction with a traditional ‘waiters friend’ cork screw you should be able to successfully remove old crumbling corks with comparative ease. HINT Insert corkscrew first followed by the Ah-so and then gently twist and pull both together and remove cork - works for me!

For those difficult corks
Just when the cork crumbles on a fine old bottle of Bordeaux and you are about to give up, this two-prong cork remover comes to the rescue. I have only had to use it a few times and it works. My only problem is that it is rather tarnished at two years

A well-made version of a simple instrument
This is a more luxurious version of the two-pronged cork remover than I needed but I could not find a simpler version in the time available. It does everything you would expect.Hint: get the prongs as deep as you can in the cork-bottle before starting the twisting, rocking, upward motion to attempt(!) to get the cork out.

Needed for vintage bottles of port
Great bit of kit, can't get much better opener for vintages bottle with degraded corks.
